Can a Group Founder "demote" or "remove" an Officer??

if i started a group, so i'm the Original Founder... and i make two friends Officers... if at some point one of those friends abuses Officer powers is there any way i can =demote= them or =remove= them from the group?
i want to at least demote them to a "regular member"... or remove them from the group completely!

No, but you can get the Lindens to demote the group officer and get them kicked out of a group they founded (i.e. have the founder removed).

They really need to put that option for the group leader. Needing a Linden for things this simple is really sad.

From: Frans Charming Test 1.12, a lot more powers are there. I looked through the options in the preview. They were *so* nice, everything that we've been asking for in group tools over the last year or so. Particularly for group land these tools are going to be *really* nice. It should be possible to allow someone else to edit land, return prims and ban people, *without* giving them the ability to sell your land on you. These tools will finally allow that. To the OP, until the new tools come on-line, if you need to make a group, do *not* make your friends officesr. Take 10 minutes to create a pair of freebie accounts and set them as officers so that you can retain control of the group. This is what I've done for all of my groups, even back when alts cost $10 and I've never had a single problem with getting screwed by other group members since. |
