Classic Newbie Mistake

OK yes i boo-booed

I bought an item that gave me a folder with the boxed item in it... Silly me being in a hurry and all didn't think and dragged the folder to the ground instead of opening it and dragging the box out, in the process losing everything in the folder.... Is there any way to retrieve that stuff? We checked the content of all the objects in the house and couldn't find it anywhere.

I already went and got a new set of it LOL but just wondering in case i manage to mess up like this again :P

I'm not sure I totally understand what you did, but I assume you checked your trash, because unless you deleted your trash folder since this incident it should be there.

Kahlan, is there anything in your "Lost & Found" folder? If not, how about the "Trash" folder?

When something goes missing, always check there first.

Yes I checked my Trash and it wasn't there... Looked in my objects folder and even my Lost and Found

OK maybe I didn't explain that to well hehe... I was standing in my home and went to drag it out to unpack it.... accidentally grabbed the folder instead so its like i was dropping into the floor objects Content folder, although nothing was in it when we checked.

That make any sense?

Check in your floor :D it should be in the contents of your floor prim if you own your house. I've done it before while trying to pass someone something and missing.

Edit: Oops seems you posted that you looked while I was typing, check the contents of your walls, and furniture too, just in case.

OK the house is all linked together... Will I need to just edit linked parts to see that then?

I did that once and freaked out. Edit your house and check edit linked parts. Go to the contents folder of that specific floor prim and snag the folder back.

Check your floor!

If your floor is linked you will need to Edit Linked Objects and then click on the specific part of the floor you dropped the folder on. It MAY be in that one prim where you dragged it but if it was linked you will ONLY see the contents of the last linked object of that floor, so if you select Edit Linked Parts and click on the specific peice of the floor you dragged the folder to it may be in that.


Just an idea. Hope you fine it =)

Seems you have been given some sound advice with locating your lost items, now what will you do when you do find it then have two copies? Will there be a sale?

OK I don't know why but this strikes me as funny as hell. I've never done that, but if I had, I'd be as bemused as you as to where the hell it was. :)

But what the ladies above said sounds like the cure......I am tempted to go drop a folder and see if I can retrieve it, but I'll restrain myself.

OMG! THANKS MUCHLY! I just did this yesterday, didnt realize that! trying to drag the folder on me but hit my 400m Sky Lab! I'll check when the update is done! Too bad i already bought a koala tiny to replace my dragon tiny....
