Haven't listened to it myself yet, but Clickable Culture's reporting that Cory said the IM system will be opened up (through Jabber) "pretty soon" (heh, like that actually means anything

Aww, I thought I was the first, I searched for threads with Cory and radio but that didn't come up.
I don't know what Cory said about open source, but personally I thought the IM/Mozilla bit was more interesting - LL peeps have talked about it going open source before, plus it's not really going to be open source for a long time. For the forseable future we're just gonna be getting open standards and that's something that just makes sense for the continued development of SL anyway. _____________________
