we do need the update. it's going to fix a couple of the bugs that have been causing problems lately. (at least that's what the notes say)

The first time a bug locks your machine out of SL, or otherwise screws it up for you, that weekly update wont come quickly enough.

The best place to check for announcements would be the Linden forums; specifically, the aptly named "Announcements & News" forum. As indicated in the post I linked to, Wednesday is update day, as a rule.

What do you want, the moon on a stick?

At least we know WHEN updates are rolled out. Imagine that, being given advanced warning and a definite start time/expected rollout.

I'll get yelled at for this, but I don't care. I work in e-gaming - these rollouts might be annoying but at least you have an informed choice.

And those people complaining 'we don't need an update' - how do you know? You're on the development team? No? Then you don't know if you need an update or not because we are the end users, we don't know what needs doing and what does not.

Rant over.

Just an answer.

Maybe if you'd include something more informative in your thread title, I'd have more to say in response.

Thank you. Spoken by someone with experience, while the non-techies just scream. And they scream so loudly that your words will sadly be ignored.

I should start my own forums again, just so I could delete every thread that was titled "What if...", or "I have an idea." or even just "...???"
