Is anyone living their ultimate dream in SL? So, if you didn't make it as a rock star / fashion designer / movie star in RL, are you doing it in SL?

I totally am! I'm not doing anything important!

Not really, but my dream was something that turned out not to exist. :)

I believe that SL is far more a creative hobby in its own right than a method for living out dreams.

Eh, not so much living out dreams as exploring new possibilities.

1) As a musician I find SL to be an amazingly unique format to reach audiences around the world. I find the reciprocal communication between performer and audience makes for a more intimate vibe than the traditional 'band-on-a-stage' format.

2) As a regular SL denizen, I find SL to be an open-ended environment where people can build up and create fantasy & RP environments that would just not be possible in RL. OK, they would be possible in RL, but the expense would be astronomical.

I like that, Yumi. SL is a "creative hobby" for me too. I've learned more than I ever thought I would already, I'm still learning and I'm having fun doing it. Opening my store was more of a way to realize an ambition than it was to get rich quick. Whenever someone buys something from me, I get this small sense of accomplishment :)

I get the same feeling when I visit with friends or help a new person. I'm not all that altruistic, really, but I like to think of myself as generous and helpful. I do it for the rush.

Second Life is like a big box of crayons for me. I've always liked painting and drawing and now I'm making 3d stuff here that I'm able to share with other people online. Collaborating on big projects with other people is really great too.

I created a game in SL that people seem to really enjoy and have a lot of fun playing. It is called Take it or Leave it.

Not really my "dream" but SL has given me the possibility to create and I am only limited by the restraints (or lack thereof) of my imagination. My point is, why try to live out your RL dreams virtually? Why not live out your Virtual Dreams while in Second Life?

Considering my ultimate dream is to laze about doing nothing with a good woman lazing right beside me, yeah I think I hit the nail on the head with my second life ^.~

I'd be living my dream in SL if I didnt have to worry so much about surviving each Wednesday 'update'.

Well I dream of not living in a tiny little apartment with loads of people crowding me ... so in that respect, yes!
