Nope, there's me! My best friend tried and tried to sign up but she had the wrong type of card and all sorts of shenanigans. I was really happy when I told her it didn't matter any more!

Then she downloads SL and realises her ancient graphics card won't run it.

Aside from that, our quiet little corner of the grid has been flooded with visitors the last couple of days (sadly too poor/confused to want to buy anything!). I've met a few who seemed very genuine and offered them some help, but also a few who rang alarm bells - this is something I do not like. I want to help people out - but I'm over-cautious now because you can't know if they're having you on or not. Which is very sad for the genuine new guys.

No griefing as yet, just a lot of littering and one guy who wanted to SELL ME HIS MAGIC POWERS (sic), but he was nice enough and went away :) But I *will* be turning off scripts and providing lots of seating for my next event. I'm just a little uneasy with all these stangers.. :)

Oops, that wasn't meant to be such a long serious post! I suppose I ought to break it up and post a paragraph to each of the other threads on the same topic...

But historically speaking, take a look at the general response when someone with less than 100 posts says something contrary to the general uproar... Can you blame me for bringing my asbestos suit and mallet of troll tenderization? :D

No, I did too.. and they got griefed the moment they got in world. So, now I'm forced to try to explain that the whole of the grid isn't about griefing. Which, btw, is hard to do at the moment!

No. People now start off broke. But when registering, before logging on for the first time, it asks you if you would like to purchase $L.
