Howdy Howdy Howdy (Insert random cowboy joke here)! I would really like to stream the music from www.bxr.com (radio station out of Columbia, MO... absolutely excellent, in my opinion.) Here is the problem: The music is played over a proprietary player called Surfer Network (however I believe that it actually streams over a common format.) I need to know if I can get the address of the actual stream and play it on my land in SL. If this is not possible, I need to know where I can find either an awesome Adult Alternative station, or some pop/rock from the 80's (preferably top 40 variety).

HOWDY KHASHAI I am personally not familiar with Surfer Network so I don't know if an address can be taken out. A great and often-cited directory of playable streams in SL would be http://www.shoutcast.comAll sorts of styles including the ones you're looking for. Best of hope!

For best results, close everything that might be accessing the network and wait 5 minutes before doing this. With the desired radio actively playing, Go to Start>Run Type in cmd Press enter Black window pops up Type netstat in the black window Press enter A list of all your connections pops up, one of them will be the radio. Pray that you got the right adress and that the stream format is compatible

Found the most likely address for the stream (by comparing addresses with the service on and off). There were many addresses, but the one I figured most likely had a port number at the end, instead of :http. Now, when I try to access the stream in Media Player (figured it was a good testing mechanism) I get an error pointing to the possibility of not being setup for the correct proxy server. The other posssible IPs did not work at all, whereas this one attempted for nearly a minute to connect to something. Thoughts on this?
I can say the the Surfer Network player is picked up in MS Anti-Spyware, so we can assume it is bundled with something nasty. I would assume that all this has something to do with why I am having such problems accessing the stream.
BTW, thanks for the additional info, Torley. Im still trying everything I can with KBXR, in my opionion, its just one of the best damn radio stations around, and a damn shame I cant seem to get it to work in SL.
