Comment here to help establish a SL official podcast (e.g. weekly mp3/audio show)

Hi all,

Would you like to have an easy way to keep up-to-date with various aspects of SL? To be able to do this on the way to work, whilst driving/mowing/cycling etc? Do you find you don't have time to be online to read SL bloggs to keep up-to-date?

Lets push for a 2nd Life Podcast then hey! Please comment this thread to help show support to LindenLabs to help establish an official podcast! (as suggested to me by one of the Linden bloggers).

A podcast is an audio program (MP3 file) you can subscribe to with various free podcast catching software (including iTunes) and have it automatically be downloaded to you when a new once appears/is posted. See www.podcastalley.com for background.

Here's a DRAFT proposal layout that could be used for the layout for such a podcast. Say a 1 hour show once per week would be a good start.

- upcoming in-world events for the week overview
- inworld news - what's happended in the last week (contest results, new places commissions, problems which occurred)
- upcoming feature improvements in SL (from Linden Labs rep)
- something for us scriptors too maybe - e.g. scripting segment
- voicemail / emails readout from people who send them in
- << must be more that people can think of too….>>

What do you say?

sounds great, I fully support this thread ;p.
we're going to set up a podcasts section on the community site soon and will be syndicating SL channels at iTunes and Odeo. Not sure it needs to be an Official Linden podcasts though, I'd almost rather see a wide variety of resident-generated shows...

just caught the first episode of the new podcast "secondcast" - great stuff (www.secondcast.com)

I'm hoping they will be able to take some of the content suggestions from here - e.g. weekly interviews with a Linden rep in particular would be great

To your point Greg, I am trying to line up some Linden interviews for the coming weeks. Kermit will also be confirming with me for next week.
