I'd like to thank LL for giving us the LSL editor search and replace functions!

If there was one thing that drove me crazy, was finding all occurrances of certain variables in a script without a search!

Once again, great job on this!

not many people will use this and what they did to the land barrier for Access ruins this totally. I can understand a barrier for Banned people but for people who just want to explore the land???

Linden labs has gone too far listening to the Vocial Minority this time.

Yes, definitely, very handy - I was having to C&P between the LSL editor and BBEdit. Also, the new HTTPRequest functionality will come in handy I'm sure.

Not that I'm happy about the last-minute ban nonsense but credit where credit's due, this is good meat-and-potatoes improvement, not flashy but really useful. The sort we need more of.

I haven't done any real scripting so I will add my unrelated happy fluffy bunny comment.

I've really enjoyed watching the SL Birthday Expo (or whatever) come to life, it is really cool and fun and I'm looking forward to the celebrations!

Um, newbie question? Can't you use another editor for LSL?

How does changing land access functions ruin better scripting tools?

I fail to see the connection.

That's often the case with Magnum's comments I'm afraid :)

You could, but it's all about convenience for me.

Would you rather...

1. Write script in external editor.
2. Copy.
3. Switch to SL window.
4. Paste.
5. Test script.
6. Switch back to external editor to edit.
7. Go to 2

or would you rather...

1. Write script in SL.
2. Test script.
3. Edit script.
4. Go to 2.

I was just curious, really, in case I found I didn't like the LSL editor. Obviously, it is better to be happy with the one LL has.

Even though it's a bit dated now and a little bit of pain to cut n' paste back and forth, I still prefer to use SciTE-ez instead of the in-world editor.

While it may have been a minority of residents, it was hardly a minority of land owners.

A total of less than 300 is not a substantial portion of landowners.

This functionality should have come to notecards too. Scripts are not the only thing that needed a find, search/replace.

Yes, I saw your post elsewhere for this functionality.

I never thought of it, but I do think it's a good idea and support it :)

Ditto. With lslint and SciteEZ together it's still a much nicer environment than the in built editor, and the copy/paste really doesn't bother me (although I'm sure the fact I run dual monitors has a lot to do with that). I wouldn't be switching back to the internal editor for large projects until it at least got some sort of #define & #include, auto completion, the abilty to generate the skeleton code for event declarations (and there's probably more I could think of if I had them both in front of me right now). From my perspective this seems a bit like too little too late.
