From: someone There is another attack on the grid, necessitating that we shut it down to log-ins and clean things up. We anticipate this process will take a couple hours, and will post here when it opens up again.
I know this is totally frustrating -- for us too. We're working with the authorities to go after the people responsible for these attacks, as you know. When I have information to share I'll pass it on. Damn straight they should be punished. Why do people always try to do something like this? Whats the point of it? What the hell do they get out of it?.. |

I know this probably isn't the right place to post this but I was wondering if I have to uninstall SL and reinstall it will I lose everything and have to start all over again?

No, on SL everything is held on Linden Labs servers, the software you use to log on is just a client. Uninstalling, deleting the cache files and reinstalling is a useful thing to do now and then I find. |

The type of people who do this are, generally, very intelligent. Their childhood convinced them that rules aren't meant for them. They really enjoy the technology and being able to change it to their liking/amusement is foremost in their minds, regardless how it affects others. As far as they're concerned, nobody else is a part of their society. Remember, for a child, any attention they receive is good. Even if it's because they did something bad.
