I'd just like to take the time to thank the community team and Karen Linden for the improved communication. For a long time, I was very vocal about Linden Lab not communicating well enough when there were problems. While I still wish there were some sort of "beacon" we could hit for grid status (I still have to manually take SLBoutique down when SL goes down like a porn star on cocaine), I really appreciate the community teams effort to keep us in the loop, and Karen's efforts to let us know what is being worked on. This is a lot better than it was a year ago - so, thank you. I'll continue to be vocal about the need for an "external beacon" letting us know about the grid status... but hey, one step at the time. Kinda like when frames were intro'd in HTML v2. Or, hopefully not like that horrific implementation. Regards, -Flip

I miss frames, they made a very logical way to order a page, which is reproduced by scripted pages very badly. But that is neither here nor there, like an avatar in the midst of a teleport.
Aside from that, what do you mean by an "external beacon" to advise on grid status?
I had just been thinking about a thingy to tell us when the grid came back up as a result of the red spiral event, just before reading your post.
