This happens to me regularly. Actually I don't even get a message, just the same empty page over and over again. It usually starts working again sometime that day.

what are you searching for?

The search thing is weird, it gives the error you mentioned, or it just doesn't respond.

Sometimes it will say a word that is 7 characters long is too long, but will take one that is 8 characters.

You might get a different result from the plain search and the advanced search, or a forum specific search.

Hi Elror - we're aware of the search troubles as of late and I'm sorry for the bork-ness - we're gearing up to *hopefully* upgrade soon to the newest release of vBulletin, which should help with the trouble.

In the meantime, I've found that the Advanced Search usually works better than the Quick Search. Also, limiting your search to a particular subforum instead of the whole forum seems to help as well.

Thanks for the reply and update. I often have to wonder if it is 'just me". After all, I suffer from severe Mac Addiction and use the Safari browser.
