There's nothing official yet, really. When DI was announced to be phased out, a lot of people began asking about Dwell, and Robin Linden replied with something to the effect of 'We have no immediate plans to phase out dwell, but it's similarly broke and not accomplishing what we originally hoped.' That seems to indicate they do have plans at some point of removing or altering dwell as we know it, but that's about it. I believe this is in the Second Life Answers forum if you want to search it out.

/invalid_link.html I know many people are very dependent on daily traffic bonuses as part of their income, and many others share in those bonuses through things like money balls and camp chairs. However, traffic bonuses, like developer incentives, are an indirect and sometimes inaccurate way to acknowledge a contribution to the SL economy. At some point we need to move away from these types of payments in favor of direct transfer of L$ among residents, in combination with a more macro level management of the currency pool. While we have discussed these issues, we don't currently have a timetable for making any changes. I agree that when we do move away from traffic bonuses we need to give people advance notice and phase out the program slowly rather than remove it all at once. _____________________

Historically, this has translated into a two month time to live. Coincidentally, that was said on Dec 22nd, it's now Feb 22nd. OH NO, THE SKYBOX IS FALLING, RUN FOR YOUR LIVES.  At least they promised some advanced warning this time._____________________
