The account cancellation page, https://secondlife.com/account/cancel.php , includes the following: From: someone What? I can stay at Second Life and not pay anything else?
Yes! Second Life's Basic Access Account allows you to come and go from Second Life as you please. You can keep your Second Life name, avatar and all your inventory items. The difference is that you only get your L$ grants on the weeks you log in and you don't receive a land allocation. Is this accurate?

Sounds like it is left over from when everyone got a stipend, and not just folks who registered before May 29th... but as far as I know, it is still accurate for those who registered before that date.

It seems that information is only true for those basic accounts that were created prior to 6/6/6.

Well im only 16 days old and was about to cancel my prem account , it showed me that tonight. I assume after reading the rest of it , i could down grade to a basic free acount and play when i wanted , just wouldnt have any land allotment any more, and the stipend if any is only 50$L , hardly anything to get worked up about. Im thinking the biggest reason is because it gives dates of when ,your inventory and land holdings would no longer be available should you decide to return , unless you did keep the basic account. Unlike some games your building could be there a year from now still , the lindens will , grab back the land you so graciously paid for , after a month  |
