Any dj here can help me?

Hello folks im a dj in SL for about a year, i use SAM3 .
I hardly ever had any problems using it untill last week when i tried to open SAM
i got a message unable to conect query or to database.
I uninstalled SAM and tried to install it again but while installing i get that same message
now i think its mysql that cant conect to the net. does this have to do something with firefox?
that would be weird because i always used firefox.....
So if anyone maybe can help me with this i would be very gratefull tyvm

I have never had any issues having both mysql/firefox on the same PC

It sounds to me like your database is corrupt. I hope you made frequent backups.

I have never liked SAM.... .The only reason people think SAM is good is because of the crossfader.... and there are much better programs with faders and beatmatching options:

To play tunes: Traktor DJ Studio or Virtual DJ

Due to a recent slip up which involved gaining alot of spyware,.I had the same kind of error with SAM. After all the spyware removal, I decided to remove some unesscessary startup programs and removed the 2 entries for firefox using MSCONFIG(I dont use the database anyway).

SAM however, wont load unless it can conect to this 2programs on startup.

Goto START > Run, Type MSCONFIG, hit enter,.goto the SERVICES tab, MAke sure the 2 firebird services are running. That should be about it. If it fails after that,.maybe something has damaged it? revoked permissions?

could be thousends of things LOL,.hopefully tho, this was a good place to start.

Lucky for you, I ran into this issue myself a couple of times.

When you uninstall SAM, it messes up the process that the DB uses, so even though you have the right process and everything installed, it doesn't work.

My suggestion to you is to eithe rerun MySQL's configuration setup (once you've completely removed the DB process from Windows) or, if that doesn't work, uninstall both SAM and MySQL, reboot then reinstall MySQL and then SAM.

It's a tricky issue. Hope this helps.

ok i got sam demo running again but when i enter the reg key and have downloaded the full program i try to install it and get a new message that says: error opening file for writing "C:\programfiles\spacialaudio\sambc\sambc.exe. omg........ since im not able to enter the spacialaudiop forums i keep spamming u guys here

Sounds like SAM is a lot of hastle for a lot of people...
