Hi I'm a new basic member and looking around before I up grade to see how things work here, so far I'm not doing well. where is this welcome area I keep seeing "go to" but no link to get there LOL. I also read I was supposed to see an automatic thing about greeter and I haven't seen it yet.
I'd also like to see what I am supposed to look like, I read all I have to do is right click on it but I can't even find it much less click on it LOL.
Also how go I get to the 3D part of this world, to walk around and see how it looks?
I know its a lot of questions but I didn't find the answers in the FAQ section.

Well you should be in the 3D part..
Silly question but: Have you downloaded the Second Life client and installed it?
Once inside, you can right-click your avatar and choose appearance to edit how you look. Ctrl-F brings up the find window to search for, well, anything.

You downloaded the installer. Once downloaded you double-click on it and it'll take you through a wizard. During this process it will install. At the end, it'll pop up a small window asking if you want to start SL immediately. When SL runs, you'll get a screen with the SL logog (The big swirly hand), with a place at the bottom to enter the FIrst name, Lastname, and password you chose. When you hit connect, it'll log you in and take you to the tutorial island. At that point, you're IN SL.

No problem. Onec you have it installed, you should see a SEcond life icon you can click on when you want to start it later.

I think they mentioned earlier to make sure you are not on dial up :/
and to move use the standard movement as in games...
on the island it will have you go through a series of things to help you learn the controls before unleashing you on the populace so no one can contact you, and you can not contact anyone till these are completed or you op out.. I advise completing them

I am going to get off this till tomorrow when I have more time to figure it out, I'll get back on tomorrow at 1pm CST USA. I did something and read that it says my CPU is not supported 2793 Mhz, I have no idea what that means but I think it means I can't make this work! Oh well I tired, I'll still try again tomorrow. Thanks for everyone's help tonight!

Called The support number
07-28-2006 19:42
Well I will not be playing the game anytime soon, it seems my memory is NOT high enough and my graphics card needs to be replaced. so till I get to a place to buy them or get them on line I'm not going to do much in 2nd Life. But when I do I'll be back, and I was able to do some stuff before I signed off this morning "abate slowly LOL" So till then thanks again everyone, and see you later.
