I have noticed there are many places missing in Second Life that could open up more doors to opportunity and or make Second Life more fun. I have created a list below of places I have not seen in Second Life but I hope one day I will.
. Prison . Zoo (People can pay furies to stay in cages, similar to the camping chair idea) . College . Hotel . Realistic beach . Large city with streets, office buildings etc . Restaurants/Cafe
Please, if anyone else has more ideas post them.

I've come across quite a few really pretty beaches so far; a lot of them have waves now, which makes them look even more realistic. If you travel long enough, you're sure to run into one. For a start, have a look at the Rodeo sim; it's a forest with a shoreline that has some really beautiful waves.
There are also a fair number of cafes, coffee shops, etc. scattered around; if you search Find Places, I'm sure you'll come up with a few.
Also, there's at least one large city, covering parts of 4 sims: Miramare, Grignano, and a couple others I'm too sleepy to think of at the moment. It has office buildings, streets, even a trolley line. There are others like the Las Vegas sim as well, the cyberpunk city of Nexus Prime in Gibson, and the smaller city in Chaos.

There are some pretty strange things under Chaos. We had a couple of zoos in the past. Cindy Fates was quite nice. Prokofy Neva manages a hotel called Flamingo Court in Juanita and Jamie Otis operates the Second Life Community College in Abacus.
Oh and there are Terrabucks Coffee Shoppes here and there around the grid. The main location is, I think, at the Aerodrome in Abbotts. There's also a nice Linden-owned coffee house on Baffin Island.

You can make builds that superficially resemble cities, but you can't create the thing that really makes a city be one, namely a large area of high population density.
Similarly for reproducing real life settings, such as a coffee shop - you can't drink coffee over the internet, so a major part of the function of a coffee shop is missing.
You can build something that looks like a coffee shop, but there is no coffee drinking related reason to go there.

I have a parlor sitting area in my store at Wasp. Feel free to come have tea sometime. (Or coffee, if you're so inclined.)

Please, if anyone else has more ideas post them. All these have been done, repeatedly, except maybe paying furries to stay in cages. (That I've never seen, either, and I hope PETA doesn't hear about it!)

Caledon Academy of Virtual Wizardry going up this very week - I've got faculty lined up as well. Ultimate goal someday: classes resulting in a certificate ('degree') that means something; one that would be a solid indicator of your abilities in this or that. Not that such hasn't been done before. The serve-yourself approach at the Ivory Tower of Primitives has taught many, myself included.

From: Darkness Anubis I have never figured out how to ride the trolley. Anyone got instructions? If you right-click on the trolley car in Nova Albion (Grignano, Sistiana, Barcola & Miramare) you can select Ride/Sit from the pie menu.

Half of the fun of riding the trolley is when it goes underground along the way, or derails and crashes into one of the Luna shops at the end.

That reminds me I still have one of your heads in a drawer somewhere Sal. I'll try to remember to dig it out and get it back to you. There's only one tiretrack over the forehead so its in pretty good shape.

You can probably guess why.) Why don't you just hang on to it. At some point in the future I may get displaced back to this time period and if I lose my head in the process I may need a spare. (Why do I feel like AnneDroid Lily all of a suddden?)
