Just to make sure:
you do know that version 1.9 does not have to be followed by version 2.0 ? There can be versions 1.10 and beyond. |

What do you guys think SL 2 will implement and what do you want it to include? It'll be like what HalfLife2 was to HalfLife. Or TNG was to TOS. The original was good, the sequel was better. |

I really want to see something else with him in it just to confirm my belief he's a great actor ![]() He was in TRON! And all kinds of other stuff, some good, some mediocre, lots horrid: http://imdb.com/name/nm0432867/ He and Andreas Katsulas were awesome, and really took the show to a whole nuther level! Great video, Hiro, hehehehe. Regards, -Flip _____________________

You can't do 1.10, that's the same as 1.1. Really. Right?

That's the thing about Version math. 1.11.11(11) makes sense.

SECOND LIFE 2
"The Redundant Title That's Redundant!" New Features: •All avatars now have to shave •Much land now needed to grow crops else people starve to death. The banned to work in the cornfield (with ball and chain preventing their flying away). •If you wait 150 seconds, all the doors will vanish. Another 150 seconds and the walls turn into exits! •The hippo button has been removed and replace with an FIC Contact button, which does the same thing. •Camping chairs replaced with donation chairs. Suddenly no couch potatoes in SL •New, bigger, longer, uncut prims! "Extend Griefer Wars 2" begins. •Just in time for FireFox implementation in SL, Mozilla implements SL in FireFox. Meanwhile, Starbucks opens a store on the Galactica. •Outer space "sim" created, which piles up with lots of space debris which nobody knows how to get rid of. •Someone finally figures out how to make a vehicle that uses 15,000 prims and causes autoreturns of entire land builds everywhere it goes. •The lag gets so bad that it's called "Minute Life". •The Lindens finally decide to take action about the L$... by renaming it "$L". •Roads girdle the globe, we safe in your concrete robe, Hail mother motor, Hail piston rotor, Hail wheel •A---- C----'s newest project, Nightmareland, is a success compared with her last attempt, Euro Dreamland. •All famous people in the entire world are invited by Lindens to participate in events. They all manage to show up, but end up only participating in a joint discussion with two Lindens for maybe 25 minutes. |

Before the sim crashes? >D
Yay Avenue Q, that's a hillarious video. ^.^ I don't know. A whole number traditionally has some major revision to the software involved (except in Microsoft's case, where people started catching on to the fact that little changes between versions, so they had to switch to yearly revisions like EA does with their sports titles. >.>; ). I don't think we'll see version 2 of SL unless a team of programmers get put on developing a new client and writing a new server around Havok 3 without fear of backwards compatability (at first). In THAT case, I think we'll see:

please, if you aren't going to answer my question don't use up reply at all Dude, don't bitch if someone OTs your thread. Especially if no one is answering your question. You're getting a bunch of bumps that the thread otherwise wouldn't have seen, which means that it's that much more likely to be noticed by someone who is actually interested in answering your question. Better than the thread sinking like a rock to page three, neh? _____________________

* Local lighting that won't bog down a cutting edge graphics card I'd rather see proper lighting done ahead of time on the sim itself, then having just the lightmaps downloaded to the client. One reason lighting looks so much better in "real" games like Doom 3 is that it's all pre-calculated for the static lights. No matter how l33t the SL code gets, it can't do high quality lighting in real time on standard-level (ie non gamer rig) hardware. But I don't see any reason the sims couldn't spend their idle cycles calculating really nice lighting data for static lights. |
