Hi.
I dont really understand this.
Why change from Find to Search? Its take a eternity to find the button. I have played this game for a while now, and after alots of version you get some idea to change from Search to Find.. Why??

ctrl-F (for Find) still works, at least. But with Find becoming more and more of a global search of SL, "Search" seems more appropriate. I imagine at some point, there will be just one search text field, and you could decide to filter by type... or not.

I dunno.

Perhaps "find" implies an expected result, where "search" leaves it more open to exploring.

I suppose the common term for a database query would be "search".

I don't think its a big deal to change a few letters in the source coding, but if I get your drift, was this change really necessary.

If that's on the big list of things to do, ummmmm.......................... maybe they should quit the decaf and go back to the regular grind.

It can be changed back for those who just can't stand it.

On a standard windows install of SL, it's in C:\Program Files\SecondLife\app_settings\panel_toolbar.xml There's a line in there that says label="Search". Change that to label="Find"

no offence to any one
but if it takes you several minutes ( and i take that to mean more then 3) to find the correct button you may have bigger issues then not being able to find the search / find button :p

Crucial, you might want to scale the image in your signature down to 512 pixels wide. It fits better in forum display.

Doesn't take me as much as few minutes, but "Search" certainly feels rather odd and easy to overlook... having gotten trained through years of Ctrl+F abuse that the term is "Find", so the brain tends to skip that new button in futile search for familiar word shape ^^;;

Why change from Find to Search?

Because "Take a Gander" was too long to fit in the button. :)

It may have changed to Search but at least it still pops up a window called Find
