Ghost IM's from a shut down Second Life

I have a number of objects that IM me while I'm offline to allow me to assess what has gone on in my absence. The odd thing is that even though Second Life is shut down, I still am getting IM's from these objects. I'm wondering if this just means that parts of SL are back up. Seems a little strange to me though, that the objects in world can send me messages, but no one can get in.

Seems like about half of SL's up, and the rest isn't. I managed to log in briefly before an admin kicked me out again, but before that happened, I took a look at the world map -- a good 50% of the sims were tinted red, and I couldn't teleport to 'em.
So, maybe your scripts are in one of the sims which is currently running?

I had the same experience, but didnt get time to zoom out fully
only 2 sims were up on the northern continent

Yeah, 1000 computers suddenly losing their juice. All those hard drives crashing a sudden halt, it's not going to be good.

I believe that after an upgrade the grid is brought up and tested by the Lindens for a while before mortal logins are enabled.

I'm hungry, Think I might head out to Taco Bell before I start using these forums like a chat.  Hmm is there a chat outside of the game on the website somewhere? I never bothered to check. Would be somethin to do while we wait for updates, crashes, or other acts of God.  |
