There is an object called "ss-dode", described as "small stellated dodecahedron", created by nand Nerd that is well worth taking a look at.

It's a scripted moving flexi-prim object that really needs to be seen in SL to appreciate fully.
Extremely clever.
It may be gone now but the creator should have another one around, I would hope.

If you're talking about what I think you are, I'm sure I saw some short videos of them posted. Worth looking up - but always more enjoyable to go and find the real thing in world

nand Nerd's got a place called Flexi Fun, at secondlife://Lasiocampa/156/196/33
I don't see the small stellated dodecahedron there, but there is a "Great Dodecahedron" that is is the same vein.
The small one was more dramatic, I think.
