Right-Click bug or just me?

Today I noticed that when I right-click an object, instead of getting a pie menu it would instantly choose the "drop item" pie wedge and close the pie menu. I actually noticed this on the 4th item (at least I HOPE it is only 4 items) I dropped, one being an expensive invisible one that was still missing when I logged out. Is this happening to anyone else? Did they change the functionality of right-click?

This may also be showing up when I right-click a "For Sale" item and only get the "Rate Item" option.

I can get around this by right-click-hold but since you don't get any warning message when you drop things ANY right-click can potentially cost you an item.

If there are others with this problem this should get moved to a bug forum.

I saw an issue with it detaching it each time I tried to edit some hair. It became really annoying.

Yes this is another bug.

Shit define bug...can't 'right' click and get the correct pie menu option. *sigh*

I wonder if Lindens play this 'platform'? I suspect not.

I just want my EDIT option gahdammit!!!!

Hmm..yes, I thought it was just me, that my mouse wasn't getting the prim correctly.

*sigh* NOT another bug...it's REALLY tempting to downgrade to a no-pay account...but I've got land and I can't.

Building is becoming a quick pain, especially for tiny prims, which I use for my shoes and sometimes jewelry. *sighs again*

I hope LL fixes all these bugs soon...I can learn to live with and adapt with some of these bugs...find workarounds...but please...instead of upgrading the damn water we can't even swim in (ok, ok, so we can, with a really stupid animation), get wet in, drown ourselves in when we get frustrated enough with SL or whatever, PLEASSSEEEEEE fix the bugs first!!!!

Thank you for listening to me whine...

I have been experiencing this bug also. I thought maybe I hit my mouse down on the desk one to many times and broke something.

To find your invisible item, press ctrl-alt-t, which will highlight transparent objects.

To answer your question, yes they did change the functioanlity of right-click. You can use it two ways, right click - slide to pie item - release, or right-click, then hold, and it seems to revert to its former behaviour. Wasn't sure if this is what you were struggling with, or if something else was going on as well for you, bug-wise.

The problem with "finding" my lost invisible item is not knowing it has been dropped! You get NO WARNING MESSAGE when you drop an item so how will I know when a quick right-click has gone astray? I have quite a few items I wear that use a right-click to make them work, do I need to go around ctrl-alt-t on all the time just to be safe? What was wrong with the "old" functionality? Whose going to pay for my lost item/items? In fact how will I even know when something goes missing???

I am NOT a happy camper!

OK Tess, I wasn't trying to dismiss your problem, I was just trying to help you find it. Plus you asked if the functionality had changed, and it had, so I answered your question. :)

I tried this with a default prim on my head, and I think I was moving the mouse ever so slightly on the times when it dropped the attachment instead of producing the pie menu like I wanted.

Definitely a step back so far as making the interface easily usable for those who want to use it the old way.

I didn't mean to vent on you. See I have no idea when some right-click (I wear lots of stuff that works on a right-click) dropped (without warning) the expensive and invisible center piece of lots of things I own and use. Plus now I am afraid to right-click ANYTHING that I am wearing for fear of losing even more stuff. Basically this change has made many things I have no longer usable. And I really see no point to the change!

I even checked the Linden jobs and they aren't hiring any regular QA folks. Looks like wonky updates is just something we will have to learn to live with.

It's also hard to right-click on something to edit it. Half the time it won't take at all, unless I change my angle. Other times, it says it's canceling out - what's that word? teleporting me somehow, or that it's cancelling out attaching an object.

It takes quite a bit of sweet-talk now just to get the edit box to come up.

For me, it's been offering friendship or bringing up profile when I right click on people to try and IM them.

Tess, I have a workaround for you, if it's buggy and driving you crazy. I'm not sure if you know you can do this, forgive me if I'm telling you something you know, but for clothing and attachments you can take it on and off from your inventory. Just right click it in your inventory, and select wear, you can attach things from there as well. You can take off and detach from there too. I got in the habit of doing this ages ago, because I was always doing something silly the other ways. I hope that helps in the meantime.

The pie menu problem has been seen and reported by me some time ago. It happens when you right click and release the mouse button quickly while being close to one screen border. All subsequent short clicks will result in opening an arbitrary menu item, regardless if you're at the screen border or not.

If you drop an item by accident, it usually gets returned to you after some time, depending on the land you've been on. So you're not going to lose it for good.

R-Click pie menu is bugged. I reported this the first day after the update. This is annoying as, as the OP shows, potentially costly.

Bug Report ANYTHING you think may be a bug. The worst that can happen is the Bug Team gets flooded and maybe LL will get a clue and test things futher before updates to avoid all the Bug Reports.

This stuff happens to my HUD all the time. if i right click it, it chooses detach automaticly. Thats why i'm glad we can now hold down the button and let go on the options. This isn't a new bug, but one of the many bugs that got worse in 1.11. ;p

Well, I didn't have quite as much fun in SL today as in days previous as I felt I needed to pause to think about each mouse click instead of just clicking quickly. In a few days I will have gotten used to the way it clicks and should be fine.

Pretty sure this isn't a new bug but it seems to happen a lot more frequently now so maybe they will fix it.
