I am sorry if this seems like a silly questions. It seems like when i am playing sl that my dsl seems to crash. This is even after i updated my speed of my dsl I am wondering what programs i should shut down that might be running in the background that might be taking resourses up and causing the dsl to crash. I hope this is not a stupid question I was just wondering

Maybe you could trying closing down as many programs as possible. SL is a resource hog. What happens when the DSL crashes, does it say anything??

Maybe its not you'r dsl crashing, maybe you'r pc don't meet the requirements? Check the requirements and what you'r system has, alot of people think its there connection crashing when its because the game needs more then what you'r pc basicly offers at the moment.

Lizzie,

Are you accessing SL through a wired connection (ie your computer is physically linked by a cable to the router/modem) or a wireless one?

About a year ago, I started having tons of trouble with SL. I would play for 10 minutes at most before I lost my internet connection. I was using a wired Linksys router and some looking on net forums mentioned unstable connections. So I got myself a new Netgear router and haven't dropped connections since then.

SL sends and receives large amounts of data. and it seems like my previous router somehow didn't cope with this very well. I was fine with other programs... most of the time. My router was losing the connection maybe once or twice a day on its own outside of SL.

Could you be experiencing something similar?

Wendel
