I have had my club a few days.. now I have a griefer. This person comes - I ban them. Then they keep coming back with more and more alts.. hurling abuse & ruining my club. Also I rent apartments and they he/she is messing there too.

Is there any hope of getting rid of this nut? I have filed abuse reports.

I too wonder what can be done about griefers who get many accounts

The Linden's should implement some sort of IP ban or such

This is one price they decided we should pay for their ability to "grow". By claiming SL is popular because anyone can create an account now. Or make alts which add to the amount of registered users.

How many abuse reports have you filed?

You can try to get a Linden liaison to drop by during an problem session, even if they don't do anything at the moment they might file an abuse report.

File the abuse reports as often as seems reasonable if they keep on and on.

If the abuse reports are near duplicates of each other you can make a file in notepad or whatever to paste in - you can also use the griefer's note tab in their profile to store a prewritten abuse report.

1) File ARs for everything they do. Include the names of their alts.
2) Lock your land to those with payment info on file only.

Oh! Well darn and I thought the new push restrictions would lower the incidences of griefing...not.

No, you see there isn't anything you can do and there isn't anything LL WILL do except offer up changes like the push restrictions in a lame attempt to pacify the community.

I think you can expect LL to do more of the same but don't think for a moment they'll actually attack the HEART of the matter...the griefers themselves.

LL needs to actually hire people to deal with TOS violations, as well as being *far* more willing to kick people out of the game for abusive behavior.

Unfortunately, this costs money, and the managment at LL seems to be running with some sort of, "Can't we all just get along?" philosophy.

Push restrictions *have* helped. (I had griefers show up in my house a few days ago. They managed to be annoying rezzing objects and using annoying particals for about 3 minutes, until I got their names coppied off of my HuD and into the ban window, after which they were no longer and issue and I went back to what I was doing.) They're also something that LL should have instituted about a year or back.

LL is busy playing catch-up with griefing, instead of being ahead of it, and is hindered in the fact that they've never really taken is seriously as a problem and, IMO *still* don't really take it all that seriously. Certanily not to the point of trying to foresee future problems, or to taking a harder tack with griefers, and most particularly, to the point of actually being willing to *pay* people to actually deal with abuse.

Make sure you have specified to LL that you have reason to believe that persons b,c,d, and e are all alts of person a. If you don't say it, they may not even care to look it up until they get a ridiculous number of AR's. If you tell them straight up, they'll take notice and see who it is.

;)

If you set your land to no push, no edit, and no object creation that severly limits the level of griefing he can do. I don't mean just autoreturn. I mean set your land so that no one but you can even rez a prim on it.

Keep at it with the ARs.

You need to get it to the point where the Lindens will kick in another feature to get rid of him, namely the machine hash.

This has been around for some time. Remember when we had to agree to a TOS dialog when we logged in to SL? That's when it came in.

We don't really know how many have been permabanned using this, since the Lindens say the police blotter will only show up to the 14-day suspension penalties. Permabans are not shown on the blotter at all.

Gotcha! I always wondered why I NEVER saw anyone being permabanned.

Do you really believe this?

I guerontee without push I or anyone else with even a touch of savvy can run out 95% of your customers out :)

Push is just one item. Sound spam, particle spam, orbit cagers, hell you could drop a series of rezzing physics calculators and gradually drive up lag .....

Push was just the simple way.

Turn on return and off rezzing. It's not perfect, but it helps.

Unless, of course, the orbit cager belongs to the land owner ;)

The machiene hash is dead, as it will take a string full of 0s.
It's a joke, since it's foolable with one simple program.

Kk, just want to point out to everyone that I did say it would not fix the griefing and the length of time griefing would be way longer..

so for childish glee.. I told you so! :P
