I know its futile to complain...but is it taking 5 days for everyone else to receive credits to PayPal?
Considering they have all the payment/credit card info on sellers, and that the BUYER gets the $L immediately, not to mention LL can "erase" any fraudulent purchases with the stroke of a button., WHY does it take 5 days to get a credit? I have had some stretch as far as 7-8 days.
Maybe they are under-staffed? Who knows. But for 3.5% of every sale I expect better service.
I think we really need a competitor for Lindex IMO, service is lacking, rates are high and LL has no real customer service attached to the Lindex.
Yes I am bitchin...but when youre the only game in town, you can do damn well as you please. Lindex is a monopoly atm, IGE has backed out of the linden market by offering ridiculous rates. I brought this issue up at the Town Hall to Philip and he said they would "Look into it" *shrug*
I am just curious if this the case for the majority of Sellers, or if it is limited to larger trades maybe.
Anyone?

Agreed. I posted on this a couple of weeks ago that because the Lindens basically ran GOM off, they dominated the market and now have no reason whatsoever to do a good job at it.
New users don't even know about their options, and blindly click on the L$ in their client. LindeX is a piece of crap, poorly supported, with basically one person who does it half-heartedly. Linden Labs has someone on the freakin' payroll to handle LindeX and it still sucks. The guys at GOM did it as a hobby and had customer service a billion times better than what the "big multi-million dollar company" is providing.

I didnt know you could buy $L in fractions of a dollar...
455685 Market Buy L$1,000 L$1,000 L$298.51 / US$1.00 2006-07-11 20:20:26 2006-07-11 20:20:26 fill US$3.35 US$3.65
The best exchange rate at the time was...
L$299 / US$1.00 3 L$205,793 Where did the other .49 cents go?
Obviously I paid the .30 transaction fee, but is there an "additional" fee that isnt specified anywhere? Taxes maybe? Do they round up?
Would it not be more advantageous to sellers as well as the market to list sell orders in fractions? I believe it would curtail a lot of "leapfrogging".
Why sell at 298 if you could sell at 297.50.
Is this just due to space constraint on the webpage? I know you can put in any amount to sell at (297.69 for example) but why is it rounded up? And who receives the benefit of such factoring? LL? The Buyer?
The complete lack of evidence PROVES the conspiracy is working! *g*

Lo had a thread about this in one of the other sections of the forum. I've read complaint threads from several well-known residents, so you're not alone. It makes me wary of ever doing business in SL that relies on transferring out L as income.

Maybe I'm a minority here, but I've seen my credits transfered to paypal in as little as the next day (under 24hours). I've done this a couple time the past month. Maybe its a larger amount and they take more time on it???

Anyone? Yes, I have two process credits 'in progress', one from the 7th and one from the 9th. The last couple before that took a long time also. They used to turn around within a business day, but lately it's a different story.

I have posted this question in Second Life answers on a previous occasion - asking about the batch process and when it runs etc etc
But didn't receive an adequate reply letting me know exactly what occurs after you hit the button.
However after a phone conversation with LL at a time when I had a problem with a PayPal transaction I did find some useful information ( don't know if it is still the case - this was 2-3 months ago )
When I asked if I could speak to someone regarding PayPal I was told the person ( singular ) who deals with that only comes into the office on Mondays and Fridays.
Since then I have always posted to the Lindex on a Sunday, or Thursday night and my turn-around time has been pretty consistent.
But I agree - for a company that publishes the fact that they are dealing daily with 10's ( sometimes 100's ) of thousands of dollars they should have a department and customer care service devoted to that function alone ( available at least 5 days a week ).

I'm not sure about the monday/friday part... I've still got running from the 9th which is a Sunday. Regardless, 1-2 days would be a big improvement, I can understand a longer wait for first time users.
The main thing that bugs me is that they probably don't actually even do anything in the time it's sitting around right now, it's just sitting in a queue waiting for the batch job to get done.

No, because that number is how many L$ you get for 1 dollar, and L$ seems to only excist in round numbers.

It's quite well known that Linden Lab have a very nice management team who let their employees do whatever they feel like doing. Perhaps nobody feels like processing the credit lately.
You'd not complain if you worked there!

I am surprised by these posts because there are alternatives to the Lindex. I dealt a long time only with the currency exchange of slex. They accept my paypal account funded with debit from my german bank account. The money is *instantly* at slex as soon as I want it and I can withdraw it anytime and everywhere in world from their website (and the cash machines in world). That works quite well... and you even don't have the minimum transfer of 25 US$. So slex is quite the best choice for my limited starter budget. The only reason to deal with ll directly is to get ones profile entry changed or if you want to be premium. For starters who come here not yet committed Lindex is not the trading place of choice.

Have any of you bought anything via paypal, for example ebay? First paypal does a ghost charge when you purchase. Than it disappears and the actuall charge does not even show up for two to three days after the actual purchase. This is why your amounts are delayed, I don't think it is SL's fault. Personally i think its all teh fault of brussels sprouts, really they are kinda icky and smell yucky.

From: VolatileWhimsy Bu I don't think it is SL's fault. I would understand that if I didnt have contradictory evidence. As Leffard Lassard said you can use Slex to convert Linden and I do at times. When you withdraw US$ on Slex it is normally in your PayPal account either that day or the day after - and that is purely because one person has to sit down and do it. How come it takes a payment to PayPal from LL 5+ days if other payments go thru instantly ? Its not PayPal it's LL. ( How much interest do you earn on a few hundred thousand dollars if you leave it there for a week before handing it out ? )

I'm pissed with the delay of payment into my Paypal account as well. It used to take a day, maybe 2 for the money to hit my account....now it takes a MINIMUM of 4 days sometimes up to 6. I KNOW that it's not that there is SO much money for them to pay out they can't keep up with it....because in the past month it's been pretty much the same as usual....they've just started lagging on their end. It's majorly frustrating!! Arrrrrgh!!

The evidence that it *IS* LL's fault is undeniable. Sometimes it goes through quickly, sometimes it doesn't. And it's always linked to LL.
I hope it is not true that the person who oversees the LindeX only works two days a week. That would be irresponsible on LL's behalf.
But, then again, it wouldn't surprise me. They ran the people who gave them the idea out of business -- regardless of the circumstances, that's what happened -- and now they have no motivation whatsoever to do a good job at this whole exchange. A poll of newbies would probably show that 99% of them think the way you buy L$ is through the client, and only through the client. What exchange is the client linked to? The LindeX.
The Lindens do not care about customer service. There are Lindens that hang up on people, that lie to people so they don't have to do any work (do a search), and they have Lindens that take the whole work environment that LL provides, noted in magazine articles about the company, which is to have free reign to do whatever they want, to mean that the customer is second to their freedom. If they don't "feel" like doing something for the customer that day, then they don't really "need" to until they "feel" like it.
Remember when LL got that $7 million investment a few months ago? What happened to it? What did it go to? So far, absolutely nothing tangible. It certainly hasn't gone into customer service, just search the forums.

The current turnaround times are terrible. From a customer service standpoint a 5+ day wait on an electronic payment is unacceptable. I put in a process credit request on Sunday and I'm still waiting. The first time I used LindeX it was really quick, but considering the fees involved I deserve better service. It's more than possible they are putting all our money in an account and purposely delaying payments to earn interest on it. Then, PayPal takes a cut too and it takes them a couple days to wire it to my bank account. Imagine if the people who bought my lindens had to wait that long to get it....LOL
