No, that isnt even checked. Thats not it. Your nametag now shows as well when you take a snapshot. I am not seeing an option to turn that off.

Your name (that hovers above you) shows up in snapshots too. Kind of ruins the look of a snapshot.

I just bug reported it too. Very annoying to try and take photos for box art without being able to zoom in on your av or your model without getting a nametag across the pic.

As a workaround, there is a preferences setting that allows you to turn off nametags entirely or have them display only briefly when an avatar comes into frame. I leave my own nametag turned off all the time.

Thanks, Zack. I think I'll be using this option until this bug is fixed, considering the amount of box photos I take, and my laziness.

I'm quite fond of the "show nametags temporarily" option (or whatever it's called) -- I use it in crowded gatherings so that after a few seconds to get an impression of who's present, I can see avatars and not just a cluster of post-it notes.

I usually keep nametags on in crowded settings because it's the easiest way to really 'find' an avatar. They may have moved 40 paces doing some crazy white-boy dance, but their nametag will remain in the same location they started, which I can click on to message, view profile, or drop annoying textures onto, which is pretty much the only reason I talk to anyone or leave my hermit cave. ;)
