go to the gordian knot. there is a robot there that promises to help you. click on the robot for help. tell the robot off for not helping you. get banned.

When i first joined SL, a friend of mine insisted that I go see these great UFOs (made by Easy Wheeling). So i TP there and sure enough, theres alot of cool UFOs along with Easy in a Robot AV and I mistakenly thought at that point he was an NPC

Well i went to navigate over to one of the UFOs and I couldn't get past the robot, so naturally thinking it was an unfeeling object/NPC I bruskly told the robot " Get the hell out of my way stupid robot!" my friend IMs me and states "what are you doing?? that robot is Easy! a Real person!"

needless to say i think i bought 4 UFOs that day to ease my embarassment whilst appologizing on end to Easy for such a newbie mistake

That's really funny. The only time I see newbs being really rude to me is when I'm wearing one of my bots. Very interesting story.

I used to mentor newbies on afew other virtual worlds before.

Sometimes, they would ask me if I was an NPC. I'd say "Ofcourse!". At that moment they'd either:

1)Drop the conversation and go away, instantly.
2)Click me alot, waiting for something to happen.
3)Start cussing me or acting generaly jerkish, kind of missing the fact that no chatter A.I. in existance can still assume the level of conversation I was having with them in the first place.

Fun fun.

(And THIS is why robots will end up turning against us and take over the world.)
