Who else will be profile surfing

To see who is verified

If somebody bugs me, I'll check their profile.
Otherwise I wont be wasting my time.

does this actually mean i now have to put some effort into creating a profile? i have spent all this time playing profile less, now with people surfing do you think i should make an effort to write my profile?

Just because someone is verified or not won't make a difference to me. I just like seeing what people write and if they have picks... I've got to see some real neat places visiting picks from people whose profile I checked.

Anyone who would use the verified feature to outright act badly towards a resident is worse than any griefer. it's the lowest a human can stoop, to know better but do it anyhow.

I have no respect for people such as these.

I profile surf all the time... but then again, I host slingo and it's good to have someone welcome you to SL as a newbie.


I'll keep on surfing people's profiles... if only to try to learn something new. Places to go, people they know, groups they are in... that kind of thing. The verified bit won't matter a damn to me.

Are there classes of verification...such as I only verify with American Express Platinum....none of that lack of credit paypal verification for me!

I love profiles. Profiles tell me that the person has played enough to define SOME sort of roleplay and by checking out Picks, I find some very interesting builds. Now some of the club-boys I dance with have some sexy 1st life pictures too.

So in short, I read profiles anyway.

really i do not care about unverified or verified status of people. if you are a good person and talented and treat people well, then you are okay. to judge on basis of verified or this kind of gobshite is same as judging by the color of the skin or the sexual orientation or the reliegeon.

I do too! I've seen some amazing poetry and artwork in them and found some neat new places to visit by looking at profiles. It's like getting someone's business card or a personal resume.

Know what disappoints me? It's people who've been in SL for longer than a month and haven't even taken the time to put their own avie's pic on their profile much less one single friend. I see a big grey "X", and not a word in the text message. I can understand it if the person just got here. But c'mon, if you want people to reach out a little and talk to you (or if you don't), your profile is your best tool to get things started.

I've seen "Go away" as a profile entry too, and that tells me what I need to know. It's still better than a big blank.

I profile surf, too, but am not planning on using it to check someone's status as verified, unverified, or whatever -- it's an extra bit more insight into the person. Jerks can come in all types. At the escort house I work, there've been a lot of newbies coming through, looking for a show or looking for a work; I'm happy to chat with them and help them out where I can. The Gods know I was a newbie not all that long ago and needed every bit of help I received from kind people. (Yay, for New Citizens, Inc -- was a great help since I flew off Orientation Island before I should've, being intrigued by the Fly feature).

Of course, there have been some new jerks, too, who aren't very good at taking "No" as a response, or otherwise behaving with a modicum of courtesy -- but since they are jerks, the in-game age doesn't matter much, no more than it does in RL.

I'm verified.

I have always looked at profiles, just to see what someones interest was - scripting or building or socializing. Also, in the days when there were negative ratings, if a person had given other people a lot of negative ratings, I did kind of avoid them.

OTOH one of my most favorite people in SL had the most negative ratings of anyone in SL and he never griefed anyone, he just stood at the welcome gate and demanded everyone give him a negative rating, the nut.

So you can't always judge a book by it's cover and I don't.

I won't restrict my land, all are welcome unless someone becomes an asshat.
