I have noticed that while reading the sl police blotter some people have been giving warnings or suspensions because they disclosed RL info, some of the warning where for people giving there RL name. What I don't understand is why is this a violation? if we are all over 18 why is that a violation of the TOC and if it is a violation of the TOC why do they have a First Life section in your user profile that you can fill out and post a RL photo of yourself? Also why do they have a forum to post RL photos of yourself if it is a violation to do so? Or is it these people who were giving warning and suspensions on the teen grid? Anyone know what’s going on with this?

Most likely the disclosed the RL info of other people, not their own. There are no rules against disclosing as much of your personal information as you please.

Was it with a mobile phone with the vibrating ring? or a plain land line phone? I have a very old phone with bell ringer and a large handset and believe me, when baby that rings - I'm in heaven!!!.

oh i'm jealous! That's what I want. A big old ugly black telephone with a dial. When you needed it moved ATT came and did it for you. No wiring yourself. No knowing where the switch box was. Just an efficient cheerful guy (it was always a guy) who came out and wired your telephone in.

Of course, back in those days, the phone sexxors was kindof hard what with the phone being in the same room as mom and pop and the black and white tv.

Wow you guys (and *cough* ladies) are really off topic.
What ever reason they had for putting it in the TOS for a good one. Probably to reduce drama.

It's not for disclosing their _own_ RL name, but for giving out someone _else's_ RL name. In SL, we're all avatars, not our RL selves, and no-one has the right to give out my real name IN-WORLD. Now, someone industrious enough to dig up my website (which, IIRC, the URL to which I have included in my profile) may be able to find my real name, but using it in SL is a violation of the TOS.

You seem to have a real fixation on the phrase "if we are all over 18"...

AGE has nothing to do with it. This is _SECOND_ LIFE. GOT IT?

IN SL, I AM MERLYN BAILLY. Who I am in RL is no-one's business until I make it so -- I can tell a friend in SL my RL name if I so choose, no-one else has that right. Even if I tell an SL friend my RL name, that does not give them or anyone else permission to use that name in SL. I put my website URL in my profile so that my SL friends and acquaintances can see what else I'm interested/involved in.

The forum for posting RL pics is for those who want to share with people they've met in SL what they really look like -- some people use SL like a chat room, to set up meeting other people for real. That doesn't mean EVERYONE wants to meet someone in RL or wants everyone in SL to be using their RL name. Most people in SL really don't care what other people look like in RL or what their RL name is.

So, who do you know who got nailed by LL for being a jerk?

Oh, but age has everything to do with it.

I don't know anyone actually I was just looking at the police blotter and found some of the suspensions and warning reasons somewhat interesting, Sharing Rl info, teensex, voyeurism for example. I was thinking why get in trouble for sharing your rl info if you want to and what in the world is teensex when there are not supposed to be teens in sl and how do you know that someone is doing voyeurism and not just hanging out in a spot.
