Real quick here. I got in to a discussion with some friends around a table at my house. We were discussing secondlife and what some of its high and low points are. We came up with the following.
Pros: Overall Great Community Amazing Creativity Great Place To Show Off Our Imagination Endless Possibilitys Beautiful Women (we were all guys) And Beautiful Graphics being it only 40 somthing MB. Theres more just cant think since its 1:40AM =P
Cons: Asshats that bring political shit in to the game Asshats in general L.L. Not doing mutch about the political Asshats Sometime seamingly unfair punishments from L.L. Little Overpriced on monthly fees Not enough prims for how big the land seams Cars Glitch Through Sims Sometimes Not Stoping Till Reloging More Could Be Done With The Building Controles
These are just some of the things we came up with. Dont wanna bore you all to death with the list . Lemme Know what you all feal as Pro's And Con's of secondlife, Aswell as what you think of what myself and my buddys came up with. But dont get us wrong This Game RULES!

From: Fizban Quinn Asshats that bring political shit in to the game Show me an online game where they don't. From: Fizban Quinn Asshats in general Show me an online game without them. From: Fizban Quinn L.L. Not doing mutch about the political Asshats They have a set TOS, people who break it get punished, those who don't break it, don't get punished. Better than them changing the rules all the time. From: Fizban Quinn Sometime seamingly unfair punishments from L.L. Dunno where this is coming from... From: Fizban Quinn Little Overpriced on monthly fees Is the cost to run the server, and the man power to maintain it. From: Fizban Quinn Not enough prims for how big the land seams More Prims = Less Performance = More Complaints - or - More Prims = Better servers = Highly monthly prices, which you've already said you think are too high. From: Fizban Quinn Cars Glitch Through Sims Sometimes Not Stoping Till Reloging With you on that one, but they're working on it, should be improved with Havok2 From: Fizban Quinn More Could Be Done With The Building Controles Dunno what you mean about that, but if you want something done add it to Feature Suggestions.I just read over that and it seemed a little serious, so I'm gonna add some smilies..

Beautiful Women (we were all guys)I noticed that people don't comment much on the women when they find out the hawt uber babe is actually a hairy, fat man in RL. Cons:Asshats that bring political shit in to the gameAsshats in generalThey are everywhere. There is no escape. And they are reproducing... Now where's my kiss emoticon?? Why is there no kiss emoticon??

I love the building.
I really enjoy my work as a Greeter.
I have made some good friends in game.
I enjoy running my "Guided Tours" around the game from time to time.
But.... now I've built, and run out of land.... I am beginning to struggle to find things to do with my game time, thanks to the misuse of the events calendar and the difficulty of finding things that aren't *ingo related.

Show me an online game without them.
So? It is still a con, even if they exist everywhere.

From: IC Fetid So? It is still a con, even if they exist everywhere. Not a very meaningful con. It's like saying that a con of the 2007 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is that the cars are unable to lift into the sky and fly around when traffic congestion on the ground is bad. It may really suck that they can't do that, but if everything from the Pinto to the Lotus Elise suffers from the same problem, what's the point of complaining about it?

Pretty good summary, Fizban. For me, some of the pros are very compelling pros; while some of the cons are an extreme turn-off. coco

I voted for 'love it.' I've a completely different list of pros and cons though:
Pros: - Virtually guilt-free shopping - Nearly endless avatar customization - Lots of creative, talented, interesting people - Lots of freaks just like me
Cons: - Underdocumented. I'm aware of the SL Wiki, but I've honestly never found an answer to any of my questions there. I plan to contribute to it once I'm more well-versed, but I still struggle with many little things at the moment. Most scripted items I've obtained (collars, animation overrides, um- body part enhancements) could be much better documented as well (a responsibility of the content creators, admittedly). - Hard to find the "cool" places. Sure my idea of cool's different from other people's but the current "Find Places" feature just sucks. It's more like "Find Campers." I rely on friends and just plain random teleporting to find anything fun. - It's almost too big. I know there are tons of people on at any given time, but sometimes they seem so spread out it's hard to find folks to play with. I don't necessarily think it's an addressable problem though, and there are pros to the scope as well. - That whole dragging-items-to-the-ground-to-open-them thing bugs me to no end. - Lots of freaks just like me
