So today a "new" (probably unverified! OMFGs an unclean person spoke to me!) person, born today (and this was at 3am SLT so today hadn't been today all that long) whose name was akin to a female slave of Gor, was in ETD Salon and IMing all the customers to give her money. I suspected this person might be an alt because ETD doesn't just appear on the list of places for new people to go, because her name was.. ok so she could have been a rl gorean or maybe just a fan of the books and calls everyone she meets Mistress but somehow I kinda doubt it, and she was flying around like she was pretty comfy with the interface.

So I offered her enough money to buy the newbie hair and the load of freebies (good stuff -- I still wear some of this stuff!) I carry with me to give to newbs. Of course she refused.

For me, this is a new thing. Being approached by non-newbs who want my cash. I tend to think that if they are truly new, they don't know enough to panhandle.

Not new. I have seen them quite often. A lot of times hanging out at concerts and the like in SL. There is some place in SL that even sells "pan handling" supplies i.e. signs, cups, and even a "tipping hat"
