Sitting on my dock at my house in Sido, I looked up and beheld that the stars are gone. Is this just me or has our beautiful planet of Second Life entered a dust cloud?
(I rebooted just incase it was me and it didn't change a thing)

Guy Linden states that its a known glitch and that they are working on it. He asked me to file a bug report which I did.
I also noticed that it seems Darker outside. Probably just me.

It's the End of the Universe. Just sit back and enjoy your dinner, the show will be starting soon.

This is the opposite of the old Isaac Asimov story When Night Falls.
Is that correct name for the story I am thinking of?

SL has reached the point where the planet is traveling faster than the light from the stars can reach us, and therefore it appears that they are not there. This is evidenced by the fact that its rapid velocity has ripped a hole in the time-space continuum, and created a time portal reaching further into the future than ever before, allowing us to see both SL 1.11 and SL 1.12 on two different preview grids. Well, it could mean a couple of things:
a) the Grue's are coming
b) The Vorgon are here
We're pretty F***ed either way.

Actually, the reason you can't see the stars is because the new M2 12-story office building in Sido is blocking the view. Sorry, dood.

Is that correct name for the story I am thinking of? I believe you're thinking of "Nightfall". I had a similar thought, but I was thinking of "The Nine Billion Names of God" by (Sir) Arthur C. Clarke: From: Arthur C. Clarke "Look," whispered Chuck, and George lifted his eyes to heaven. (There is always a last time for everything.) Overhead, without any fuss, the stars were going out.

We can tie lights to all the alts and make them sit up in the sky till it's fixed.. That should provide plenty of stars..
