Lookin' to Start a Database

Well, i've been reading a lot of complaints about griefers, unwarranted attacks, and minors entering SL and it's kind of piqued my interest.


So, what i'd like to do is create a database on griefers and minors.

Griefers: people who attack, harass, disturb the peace, and do all those sorts of things that deliberately lag the hell out of the place (weapons, particles, scripts)

Minors: Younglings under 18.

So if you got griefers and minos flooding your place, just fill out a note card and drop it in my inventory.

Looking for events where people were attacked without warning or without so much of a word being said.

TITLE: Note card title. Should begin with either "Griefer" or "Minor"


YOUR NAME: Your AV name.

DATE: the date it occurred

GRIEFER/MINOR NAME: Their AV name.

LOCATION: parcel name/sim name/coordinates

ACTIONS: What happened, someone attack you, someone harass you, a kid divulged his/her age, etc. If you were attacked, please describe the weapons used. And please send only things that have occurred to you, not what happened to a friend of a friend that one time.

This is what Abuse Reports are for.

Yeah, but I think the point of this post was in response to the amount of abuse reports that yield no results.

actually the point of this post is to see how many griefers there are and where they hit the most, along with where minors are spotted, where some attacks occur, and to see if there's a pattern, reoccurring griefers, etc.


Plus who doesn't like databases?

I have a notecard of all the people i've had to ban in the last year or so in 'the forest' and 'serenity woods' if ya need it. Theres atleast 200 and some names so i cant use them all (unless we get a bigger ban list). A lot of them are suspended already so they wont show in SEARCH, but that doesn't meen they won't come back.

I'll participate, I already keep an extensive collection of notecards with chat logs of griefer, jerk, and rule breaker I've ever encountered. Nice to have for future reference.

True that, plus LL bans arent perminent, meaning from a day to a couple months the griefers will be able to come back and do it again.

Yep, it a lot of people participate, then there could be a large reference to go by for griefers and the like. Could help in preventing possible attacks on various places if it's a well known thing in SL and not lost in the archives of ARs or logs kept on a personal level.

Share the knowledge and make SL a safer place.

The United Furry Organization is also doing something similar, though I believe they were trying to compile the beginning of the list internally first. This is what I have on them. Maybe you guys can work together.

An organization started by Furrys for anyone who wishes to join their ranks.

What do we do?

We provide a voluntary group of residents dedicated to helping protect others and their land.

How do we do this?

Two parts: First part, if a member is under attack by griefers, they send out a call for help to the group. Members of the group that are available teleport to the location. This not only provides many eyes to witness and Abuse Report the event, but also might make the griefer think twice. After all griefers want attention, but not when that attention may bring them down.

The Second part is that we are compiling a "Most Wanted" list that will be available in SecondLife and on the web. This list will contain the names and groups of known griefers in an effort to give SL residents a way to pre-emptively prevent them from being harrased by these people.

What we DO NOT do?

We dont attack, orbit, argue, or otherwise engage the griefer in anyway. We just teleport in, lock ourselves down, and become the eyes and ears for abuse reports and other non-violent methods of defence.

1 Abuse Report = Isolated Incident
10 Abuse Reports = A little more attention.

Yes. The spread of information and quick response is always the best key to keep things from spiraling out of control.

I wan't in on this United Furry Organization. I sent a IM to the person the group description asked me to IM. Being a admin of a furry sim i could always use a extra hand. It sounds like a great plan to me. Joining in numbers and doing things within the TOS.

That's really good.

The only concern about this stuff is that griefers can game resident-based systems themselves, as there isn't much verification in them.

An "Army of Alts" could submit "griefer" reports on someone they actually wish to harrass....
