Your ideal is commendable, however, LL has strict policies about naming names (or buisnesses or anything that can be concidered a personal attack) on the forums. As much good as letting innocents know about bad buisness or anti-social tendencies of people, the downside is those same people could use the same tactics to smear good names. We have no way to distinguish the two.

Posting about whatever it is, in broad statements, and cross-posting to another blog/forum is acceptable, I believe. Those who have come to use these methods will follow the links, look at as much info as they can, and make decisions from there.

I, for one, applaud your effort. While reselling freebies is "legal" in SL, I believe anyone who does this practice is scum.

Grey area, I'd say. Depends on how the post was worded. Soemthing like "The asshat in XXXX sim is selling freebies" prolly won't go. Depends on the Lindens and RezMods that read it. And remember, every one of them has thier own outlook. All it takes is one to -think- it needs to be locked for review.

And seriously, when was the last time you saw a post get UNlocked?

well the exact same wording is used in the external thread post linked by Wrom Morrison. i saw no reason to insult, only warn.

at any rate, i will just leave it on the other forum and point people towards that link.

Giving direct links to threads naming names is not very different than naming names on the forum, IMHO. Again, same smear tactics could be used by both sides using that kind of link.

I'd personally say that this kind of link should fall under the naming names category (or maybe a "not linking directly to inappropriate content for the forum" one).

Mentioning that that other forum exists is not quite the same thing though...

But that's just my opinion. Am I just being too picky?

Where do you think we should draw the line?
