The way the inventory search functions works seems really terrible to me.
I put in "My Body" as a search term, and what I get is the main level "My Inventory" and a subfolder "Clothing". I don't see anything that says "My Body".
There is a "My Body" folder, though - it just doesn't show up till you expand the Clothing folder.
Once I expand the Clothing folder, I see the My Body folder, but I can't look in the folder until I remove the search term. If I had ten folders named My Body, then I have to put the search term back again. And again. And again.
It seems incredibly badly designed.
Can't search for items by clothing type. Yes, you can search for the word shoes, but if your shoes are named Black Pumps or White Sandals, too bad.

Not to say you aren't having a problem but seeing as I am no techie I can give you no advice on that subject.

I can see what you mean but seeing as many of us have a hundred thousand "shirts" to slog through, don't you think it would be a bit much? Although adding the option to search for item "type" seems like a sensible feature (why not?). If only for those who have organized and pruned their inventory in a practical way

Although adding the option to search for item "type" seems like a sensible feature (why not?). If only for those who have organized and pruned their inventory in a practical way It's easier to look through just your shirts to find a shirt than it is to look though every single clothing item, having to expand the folders they are in one by one. Why can't we search for search terms in the names of folders, then expand the folders to look inside without have to delete the search term? The way it works is just nuts. The only reason people aren't complaining is because we are still thrilled to have any search capability at all. Why can't I search for everything I have that Jonquille Noir created? Why can't I search by date acquired?

do away with folders.... have virtual folders and tags where required e.g. make this virtual folder, drag items into this folder and it paints those items with metadata so they show up in that folder.. e.g. a whole avatar containing various types of object.

I do this in a crude way. If an item is modifiable and I want to describe it further, I add keywords in brackets after its original name.

This sounds like Gmail to me. I don't like the way that Gmail works. I have no problem with the same item being in more than one folder, which may boil down to what you are talking about, just worded and displayed differently.

If I have outfit folders named Casual Day 1, Casual Day 2, Casual Day 3, I don't want to have to name the items inside the folders Casual Day 1 shirt, Casual Day 2 shirt, Casual Day 3 shirt, Casual Day 1 pants, Casual Day 2 pants , Casual Day 3 pants, in order to see the casual day items quickly. I want to be able to search for Casual Day, see the folder names, and select expand.

From: Maylin Murakami Gmail = virtual folders, which you just said you have no problem with.. . Folders can be arranged in subfolders, and displayed in a tree or outline view. Gmail doesn't do that, does it?

Gmail doesn't do that, does it? Ideally you would be able to drag & drop, put seperators etc to organize the label list.. I used a numbering system on my labels to do that in a manual way.

Let's not get bogged down in details. The important thing to remember is that we are mad as hell and aren't gonna take it anymore.
