I've gone ice skating in SL, and have tossed snowballs at Lindens.  That was fun. This last Winter one sim I was in even arranged for it to snow everywhere, and altered the sim terrain textures and even the surfaces of the water accordingly. And I've even seen a 'dog sled' vehicle... But is there anywhere in SL that one can go snow skiing or snowboarding? Or play with a snow sled or taboggan or other snow toys? I know some sims have snowy, wintery terrain. But skiing and other Winter sports? Haven't yet seen any, save for what I just mentioned. I'm curious, because I am considering working with a sim owner to make a sim that would include a Winter resort. A place to do fun things in the snow, or to have homes in snowy terrain. It would help to know what's already been done, what snow games have already been created.

There's a ski lift there and next to it, a vendor type thing that hands out free snowboard and boots. (all in the snowboard package) You have to go up the lift, and at the top of the mountain you can put your boots on, rez your free snowboard on the ground and hop on. There are several ski trails down the hill to chose from. |
