I'm hoping for this to snowball in favor of fixes, personally, but what would folks like to see worked on more, _after the 1.12 group patch_?
I find SL increasingly slow these past few weeks and updates. Inventory searches that used to come up within five seconds take up to and over a minute now, which isn't really a good time given that my inventory count is only of medium range at 6500 items. Less than it was when I was getting the five-second returns. It was approaching 9000 at the time. (I'm working to try and get it to 3000 or below, come heck or high latency. Darned if I know where such a high number comes from!)
Besides that, in-world performance issues are worsenning as well. High traffic sims like Lusk are requiring restarts almost daily because they keep getting bugged up and suffering dilation spasms. And has anyone tried to go flying lately? With planes? The fall-throgh-world slow handoffs are as bad as they've ever been. It wasn't that long ago that they were greatly improved, so how did we let them go downhill again so quickly? "Lag" in general has seemed like more of an issue to me. Everything is just plain slow or buggy.
I do understand that LL's development team tries to strike a balance, always addressing a handfull of things in each patch, but I believe there comes a point where one thing needs to be set aside in favor of the other.

Immediately after the 1.12 update, I desperately hope for fixes to all the major exploits and bugs that 1.12 will introduce. After that...yeah...some fixes for the instablities they have introduced lately would be nice. Along with a true privacy/invisibility mode. And then fixes to the bugs caused by the privacy/invisibility mode update. Followed by some more fixes.

It seems that whatever mmo you go into these days, the players are crying out for existing bugs to be fixed before new content is added. These calls seem to go completely un-noticed and companies carry on doing whatever thay like. Would be nice if these companies listened for a change.

From: Wanda Rich It seems that whatever mmo you go into these days, the players are crying out for existing bugs to be fixed before new content is added. These calls seem to go completely un-noticed and companies carry on doing whatever thay like. Would be nice if these companies listened for a change. I worked for several MMORPGs until recently, and actually...the player bases complain about something no matter what you do. The two biggest camps have always been: Bugs and Content. If we worked only on bugs, we get flamed for not adding any new content. If we work only on content, we get flamed for letting bugs sit. The onlt realistic solution is the one taken by the vast majority of game companies, and also LL...work on both. The question is not content VERSUS bugs...the question is are they effectively managing their workload and tasks? An artist in the content department can not be sent to work on bugs on Tuesdays...they know zero about coding. Same for a community representative, a secretary, or an advertising specialist. Coders work on the back end coding and the bugs introduced by the back end coding. Likewise, please do not send me a coder who can't draw stick figures to work in my art department. It just doesn't work. So those who demand LL throw every resource at fixing bugs are woefully uninformed on what goes on in a company like this. You wouldn't ask a secretary to be added to a law case because you are losing...it wouldn't help. Same idea here. All businesses need various functions filled, and game companies are no different. My issues recently have been that I am getting the impression that the work is not being handled in an efficient and proper manner. Its not about WHAT they are doing for me, but HOW they are doing it. Needless to say, as I don't work for LL, I am guessing anyway based on spotty comments about what happens in the offices and my own knowledge of a game company inner workings. Just my view. Like most average people...I want it all. Gimme content and then fix the bugs ya break with the content. =P

From: Kamatz Kuhr Inventory searches that used to come up within five seconds take up to and over a minute now I am fairly certain that inventory searches happen client-side, not server-side. You may want to look for problems on your own machine - perhaps clear your cache and let your inventory download again. The first time you perform a search, before your inventory is fully downloaded, you may experience a delay. But I have never seen an inventory search last for any where near a minute, and my inventory is several times larger than yours.
