Vampire Empire??

Hi everyone,

Is Vampire Empire now private? I have tried to get there and receive this message:

"you are not allowed into the destination"


Did not see any signs or posters in the Mall that said it was.

Well, technically it's always been a private sim hasn't it? Did you try to tp to Transylvania first or directly to VE?

Er... they may be remodeling. The next suggestion would be to simply IM one of the group Officers and ask.

Yes, it's Private. Only Vampire Empire is on the map. Transylvania is now Private.

I expect we'll see more places go this route with griefing on the rise.

I noticed that since credit cards and such weren't required to sign up with SL that Transylvania had to put up with a lot of idiots. The sort who create rotating prims of porn and wear them on their heads. Engh.

It's actually a pain for those who used to visit Transylvania on a regular basis but were not members of any of the Transylvanian groups (Lycans, Vampires etc).

I don't have anywhere to go anymore, lol.

Look into joining one of the groups, based on requirements. Some groups add you and you never hear a word from them again. This could solve your problem.
Otherwise, you might consider asking to be let in, considering you're not a n00b.

The problem with the majority of the Transylvanian groups is that invitations are based on votes. You need something like 20 members of the group to agree to have you as a member before you can get anywhere near to joining! Though I think this process may just be for the Vampire and Lycan groups -- There was a mortal group AKA the food group, I'm not sure what's going on with that at the moment.

I think that there needs to be another group for the people who just like to hang out there. -- Who want to listen to the music, enjoy good company and such.

Ungh, I'm going to see if I can speak to one of the members there.

I did try yesterday when I was trying to find out why Trans was closed to the public -- But none of the people I messaged (who were online, active and dancing away in trans) replied.
It wasn't as if I was asking to be let it, I was asking why I couldn't get it.

They should have a poster up in the mall and just outside of the area explaining to everyone why they've had to close it off to the public (because not everybody reads these forums).

Yes Transylvania is no longer a public Sim.. for now anyways.. but Vampire Empire the ajoining Sim is open and we do host Live DJ weekend themed events and there is a boardwalk to enjoy as well as the gothic Chapel and the Peg Leg Saloon but most of all GOTHIQUE MALL is there.. which has been totally redone with alot more gothic designers.(check it out)

I was reluctant at 1st to go non public but I think the last straw was the griefer who threw cages on ppl and when I asked him why? he replied "thats what you get for having a public Sim Bub...hahahhahaha". SL has grown so much in the past 3 years and now with the onslaught of new accounts opening... the ones that were prior banned asshats can now hide as a new asshat... and the underage members here now is astounding. We have a group for friends and family now and friends of friends.. it's not a clique.. just want some peace. We can file abuse reports but that does not get back the time and energy wasted on people who find it a thrill to torment others on the net...maybe a ban IP would be best LL. Sims like Trans that are popular suffer and it's a constant struggle to keep the ban list up. If you'd like to frequent Transylvania please IM me in game and I will add you to the group for entry. We feel this is the only way to have some peace and enjoy SL like we did in the old days.

Firstly, I want to say thank you Obscuro for clearing that up. It's much nicer to hear it from a Transylvanian than having us play guessing games (Although we seemed to be on the right path!)

Strangely enough I agree with making the sim private -- Nobody wants to have to put up greifers everytime they log on.

Whilst I understand the reasons behind making the sign up process to SL easier I disagree with it. Atleast with credit card verification things felt more secure, you were far less likely to be talking to a 13 year old back then.
Now anybody can come in and say, sure, I'm over 18. Let me in. And there are kids will do that if they are given the chance.
They can put in any name, a friends address and it wouldn't matter.
Sure, it's lying but I doubt they care.
