It is to remind us that we are a community.
* shrug * I dunno, perhaps they are trying to reorganize the pages of the site - the naming conventions are kind all over the place. Or maybe LL was secretly bought out by someone who likes the name Community: Second Life more and they just haven't told us yet. In other words, I have no idea, and no, you aren't the only one who noticed. _____________________

Doesn't make a whit of difference if it has the word 'Community' in it or not, as a community can only be formed by deed, not by declaration. Sorta like how there's a SecondLife "Community" Convention.
My guess would be though that they added the "Community" wording to better show that the forums are part of the commuity area of the website. - Newfie _____________________

Lol, well when I'm in a different tab, I used to get at least SOME of the thread tital in there like "Second Life Forums - Whats' wi.." so I knew to some degree which tab meant which thread.. Now I just get "Community  econd Life Forums" there.Oh well, I'll learn to live with it  _____________________

Um I am all in favor of bashing LL for fucked up development priorities, but the name of the forum is a single setting in the forum control panel that took all of about 10 seconds to update.

True that. How long do you imagine they deliberated it and how many staff did it take? Prolly as many as it takes to help Phillip decide whether to wear boxers or briefs on any given day. I heard they almost shut down a few months back, because they couldn't decide on whether to go with Folgers or Farmer Bros. _____________________

oh ive made many a coment on this 3 ringed circus, about why does tech support belong in the same place as off topic, scripting, biulding ect
how the search feature could be abit more usefull with some organization to the forums auto pruning the non directly helpfull areas so when you do a search on trees you dont pull up a 3 year old post about someones neighbor mutiple forums and sub forums language filters the whole garden thing ect infact this was one of my first gripes when i joined, oh boy you give me a 3 page pamplet for a manual and this is what the forums are like, this thing better not suck (and overall SL doesnt) ive posted, ive talked to lindens, ive posted again, and again and again everytime one of these treads come up.... well roughly 358 days later *sigh* |

It's ironic that you should make this change as Second Life becomes less and less a community. I suppose it's a kind of NewSpeak where what you say is the opposite of the actual thing. _____________________
