I sell all sorts of cute Easter stuff at very reasonable prices at Curie Creations. Today I was browsing thru yard sales....and I came across some of my own creations being sold for twice what I sold them for. When I looked at my sales records...I saw that the person selling them...had just purchased them from my store that day. I'm all about making a profit...but not for scamming people. The yard sale was being run by AphroditEbesos Truss in Sammamish (82,107,11 . As I looked around, I also noticed she was selling freebies for crazy prices. I really hope that not too many people have fallen for this scam. I put out a notice to warn people that they can buy the same stuff for half the price at my store. I'm sure there is no way to stop people from doing this...but hopefully pointing it out to potential victims will stop her from doing this in the future. For the real deal...and half the price...come check out my store....Curie Creations in Kane.

Ok, is this kosher name naming or a TOS/CS violation....place your bet on the outcome. I think naming names in this post ts a TOS/CS violation because the member is accused of wrongdoing in conjunction with the word scam. Of course resolution can vary from post to post but what's your opinion?

My opinion is that I am in favour of naming names.
The person concerned will eventually find out they are being named, and then they will have the option of putting forward a contrary point of view, of complaining to the Lindens or of slinking away with their tail between their legs.
I think if we were all a bit more concerned about stopping people being ripped off, and a bit less about interpreting the minutiae of the ToS, we would be helping to make this a better place.

From the technical point of view, this is not a scam. Btw. In real life it actualy works, you buyout all the stock available in the market an profit off the difference you set. In sl i guess this guy will realize he needs to be competitive in order to survive, rather than getting rich from this.

Aye, no scam, no illegal action. Technically.
But then again...technically massmurders can go free on "technicallities".
While this is no where near on par with the horror of that wrongdoing, it's still a despicable action withing SL.
Yeah, the thread will more than likely be locked, but I hope a Linden with some sense of morality is the one to do it, and they spend a few seconds thinking WHY it was posted here.

This thread is being locked for Linden Review. Torley Linden: If there's a violation of the Community Standards inworld, please use HELP menu ---> REPORT ABUSE and send in a report with sufficient details so it all gets checked out.
Selling freebies is something I certainly wouldn't do, but it's not against the "rules" per se, given the current permissions system. Altho yes, I wish there a "freebie" flag to transfer but not resell. I advocate informed opinions in cases like this--the more Residents know that they can get certain goodies for free that are being sold elsewhere, the less will be bought.
