hey folks. I've been creating some jewelry and clothing but I have having problems finding a vendor to sell them. I've looked around for a couple vendors, tried to work them to no avail. Are there any good vendors out there that I can get or buy? I might come back for more questions since scripting isn't exactly my forte.. :(

Hiya

There are lots of different vendors available, I personally use the BVS: Multivendor system which can be purchased on www.slexchange.com

Hope this helps

I use vendors from Drifting Thoughts (it should be listed in find). I use a custom scripted version, but last time I checked, there was a free one available (which I used for a long time). You can do some customization of the hovertext (or remove it entirely), add notecards to give to people when the vendor is clicked (or not), modify the prims however you like, and do several other things; the vendor is also very low lag, can hold more objects that you'll probably want to even put in it, and is the easiest thing in the world to use. Making it work consists basically of filling out a notecard with the product names and prices, dropping the items and pictures into the vendor, and clicking the thing. Seriously, I can't recommend it highly enough.

I use Eata (sp?) vendors.. you use the UUID of the picture instead of dropping the picture in the vendor. I think you can get them on both SLXchange and SLBoutique.

JZ. But from what I read, the JZ has a habit of showing bright text, and that's not always good. I asked about turning it off, but apparently they don't think it's a problem.

I guess one day I'll just have to write my own.

We use in our business Apez... seems pretty good and the pictures load pretty quick. Any vendor that I see that takes a long time to load I leave. There is a very popular one that gets on my nerves when I am shopping it doesn't load quick even if there is tons of lag around. I leave to the next store. Sorry. Apez doesn't take that long time to load the pictures.

Ah, yes, Slexchange, slboutique, ect.. are good venues to sell your jewerly... good luck.

If you intend to sell from single boxes look at the 'vendomatic' for $L150.
It offers everything the other systems offer and also the author made a version for me that incorporates a ban list, which you might need/like. Its a single box system only though - not a multi vendor.

I shouldn't say this, but there are free vendors out there, ususally set up at malls and ment for the people currently in the mall as they are low lag styles. See if you can find some of those. I know the Furnation Skymall has one.

Although you are looking at the short term of getting some items on venders, its important to look beyond that. With clothing and jewelry its quite possible you will be thinking of expanding in time to different locations. Unless you are absolutely sure you are never going to expand, I would suggest a networked vender system. I use the JEVN and it has been effective for me. All items are set up in the server and then updates all the venders at the same time.

You do not want to be set up in a system where you have to go update every vender you have when you have a new product or an update of an old product.
