A casino full of dollar slots and camping chairs has taken over a large portion of the sim next door to the sim where I have my home. I realized they were there when I started hearing loud clicking noises and went flying around in search of their source. The gambling machines that are making all the racket are well over 120 meters from my home. I can't hear the bells and chimes at that distance, but the clickety-clack of the money being fed into them (I'm assuming) is as loud from 120 meters as it is when I'm standing in front of them.
My question: Is there anything I change in my settings so I do not have to hear sounds coming from so far away? One of my friends suggested sliding the "rollover" slider in the audio settings all the way to the right. I've tried that, but it has no effect at all on the volume of these particular sound effects. Is my only choice to mute all sound? Would it be out of line for me to approach the casino owner about this?

Stand on your land, go to the World menu, select About Land...
Go to the Media tab.
Select "Restrict spacialised sound to this parcel."
That should do it fer ya.

From: SuezanneC Baskerville If you tell me where it is I will see if I get the same result. My home is at Cleora (177, 25, 52) and the casino is up the hill to the south, sprawing over a large portion of both Jodis and Epirrhoe. It's impossible to miss on the map... one giant sea of redish gray. I don't hear the noise now (4 am SLT) but there's only one green dot in the casino at the moment. In evenings is when it gets really crowded over there. I will also try the "restrict specialized sounds" setting tonight and see if that solves the problem.

Definetly use specialized sounds, but I don't think you would be out of line approaching the casino owner either.

Yep. Ask pretty please for them to enable spatialized sounds on their plot. Or x them into submission. Where x is something really nasty and competetive.
