Offline Messages

I wanted to see what people say about offline messages.

I am very concerned because I dont understand why people:

1) Dont get their offline messages
2) Ignore them
3) Don't care to respond

I do get mostly all my offline messages and if I dont get them when I log on then they have been recapped to my email.

Then, if I get them how come others dont? Dont people realize that there is the option of receiving them in email?

I know everyone is entitled to do what they want. If they dont want to respond or they just dont care or ignore them it is just strange to me and of course is their choice.

I know, I might be sounding dumb but it bothers me some that I leave messages to good of my friends about important things and I dont receive a response back from them. I see them logging in and going offline without the acknowledge that they received my message.

Ok, what do you all think? I know I should not be annoyed by this but I am in a certain way...

I just sometime wish people at least have the courtesy of saying.. "I received your message, I talk to you later"

I have left several offline messages just saying "hello, hope you are well"... I have left several to the same person. And I know with these persons are good friends of mine just that we have been busy at both ends and lost a bit of communication.

I hate to keep sending them a 4th time message.. saying.. "hey did you get my 3rd message saying hello????

sometimes they tell me, "ohh you send me a message? "when was that?" "I never received anything" But how can that be if I get mostly ALL my messages, including rentals?

Oh well.. anyone out there, what do you think?

I do miss some of my friends that I keep leaving them offline messages and they are not getting them or they dont have the time to answer I guess.... But also, I am thinking they are not getting the message with annoys me and I dont know what to do if to keep sending more...

Hi Palomma I can't speak for others but my ims are often capped. I have it set to send me my offlines in e-mail but apparently I only get 3/4 of those. I've missed several offlines in the last week so I really am not sure what has and hasn't reached me at this point. Hopefully folks don't think I'm ignoring them!

There is still a problem with offlines at the moment as far as I know.

I am getting some to email while online, if I teleport when they are sent, some arrive days later, some get to me. Sometimes I appear offline when online and sometimes online while offline, but the offline messages I get don't seem to follow a pattern.

I am not relying on SL offlines at all at present.

Neither am I, Caliandris. I seem to receive them fairly randomly when I get them at all.

I get some and I am sure that there should be more.. Then some are OK to send an answer to (as I get an answer on my answer)... some I get back at once...from a system of LL...

I cant trust that IMs get to me from inside SL via to my IRL mail address.

I do wish SL makes a better way.. lol

"Message Caps" is the problem i have when people IM me when i'm not online. It's very frustrating for both the person trying to contact me and me when i find out that they have been trying for a week!
I don't know what the cap level is or if it's tied in with vendor notifications/spam. I hope it'll be worked out soon.

Dropping notecards into my inventory doesn't always help when i dont check my notecard folder very often as well as there is nothing that tells me that a notecard has been dropped off to me.

I guess we´ll have to wait until LL implements the mailbox
