I was wondering if anyone else in the game has experienced inventory loss after that couple of Updates?
I have noticed that I'm missing a lot of my clothing and other items. My friends keep telling me they just havent loaded yet but days later the folders are still empty.  Anyone has any advice on what to do?

That happened to me, try clearing your cache.

Uninstall SL, then install.... works GREAT!!!!!!!!!!! you get everything back!!! I give you my word.
I have solve a lot of my SL problems that way.... I am not kidding!!!

I cant tell you how many things I have tried to rez and received the message "missing from database." I have lost the entire contents of my texture folder and photos, and recently lost a ton of prim animations. |

I had nearly everything disappear suddenly last night, although the number of items was still correctly listed. Cleared cache, relog, everything came back. I figured it was the update.

(I think) lol I have so much I've lost a lot of stuff too, many just recently (at that time) bought items, and no amount of emptying cache or unist-reinst brought them back. TG it hasn't happened for a while anymore, it did happen just after the first major update. And TG it wasn't anything of sentimental value, or irreplaceable. Nothing that more money wouldn't fix, tho it does bug you to pay twice or more for items.
