It's the weekend. We can't reasonably play Second Life over the weekend. The load is too much for the grid to handle. Play during the week, well, on Mondays and Tuesdays at least. Sometimes Thursdays are okay if that week's patch didn't totally hose the system.

It's a little known secret but the fact is that the Lindens, under advice from their corporate counsel and independent medical experts, deliberately mess up SL to get us off our fat lazy butts and out into the fresh air at least twice per week.
The medical experts advised LL that two sessions per week is sufficient to prevent the well known 'death at keyboard' syndrome commonly noted in WoW players. Hence the weekend go-slow and the Wednesday 'upgrades'.
The Wednesday upgrades are in fact a fiendishly clever ploy, conceived by the Machiavellian minds at LL after extensive consultation with the FIC, the Bilderburg Group and the Trilateral Commission. SL server and client code are in fact flawless jewels of software engineering and requires many highly paid 'twisted' programmers to sufficiently bork the software to give the appearance that an upgrade is required.
This deliberate bug-inducing strategy, together with an ravaging army of Linden alts (commonly referred to as 'the griefers') is sufficient to get us all out of SL bright and early Wednesday morning for our brief weekly interaction with our families, work colleagues and pets.
Please do not pass this information on as the stability of the grid could not be guaranteed if word got out. I for one thank our Linden overlords for taking such pains to enssdklfjerwtfm/ ...[]
