One has to wonder if the Lindens look at each forums' topics. I was searching for a suggestion topic but could not find one or I might have over looked it. In deciding to put it here I would hope that someone point me in the right direction.
SUGGESTION:
I think that logging out by closing the window is a little extreme. Specially when there are more than one person in the house that has an account for SL. Two people using the same computer and when one gets off SL for the other to play. the other person would have to open the program all over again.
I think that the need for a "Log Out" options needs to be added under File on the game.
"Log Out" will log out the person that had been playing and will allow a new "Log In" screen to pop up instead of having to open the program all over again.
What do you think?

I like being able to quit the game quickly without having to go through multiple steps. I wouldn't mind if they added an additional menu command for people like you to let you just log out, but quitting the program by closing the window is standard behavior for many applications, and I prefer it.
Also, Second Life is one of the fastest-starting/loading games I've ever played (MMO or otherwise), and it's not nearly the pain to restart that many other games are.

From: Wildefire Walcott Also, Second Life is one of the fastest-starting/loading games I've ever played (MMO or otherwise), and it's not nearly the pain to restart that many other games are. Closing the window out is cool by clicking the "X" on the program window. But I am talking about adding the "Log Out" to the File Menu. The program is fast for some but for people like me, its not always fast. Also, I have issues sometimes with my internet and being able to "Log Out" would be great so that I wouldnt have to wait 3 minutes for the program to come back up. I know to some 3 minutes doesnt sound like a long amount of time but to some that have a business in SL - its LONG time. Some might say for me to get a better computer, well I cant afford a better computer right now. T

I wouldn't mind an "are you sure" on closing the window. The reason is several times I've accidentally logged out when I was meaning to close the map window.

I would be okay if they just removed the log out feature completely as I never seem to use it.

I have done that several times.. I keep trying to tell myself that I am not a pirate, "X" doesnt always mark the spot and my monitor is not the place to find buried treasure. ^_^

*noddles* I've logged myself out by accident on a semi-regular basis and it always seems to involve the map having been open. I wouldn't mind if it went back to the login screen if I chose to log out. It would definately be a nice change from the loaded gun chance of having the client lock up and crash upon using the log out.
