In my past, I have been a chronic cheater in games. When games force me into a linear plotline, and it just seems like it will take forever to get to the next goal when all I want to see is what the next graphics technique or what the next part of the story is, I end up cheating. Another reason why I end up cheating in games is because quite frankly, I end up getting really bored with a game once I realize what the whole game is about.

SL doesn't hit me that way at all. The plots are things that other people are creating, there really aren't any "plots" per se--it's like being in another world. I've never ran across something quite like SL. I can't really call it a game, it's so much more than that.

In SL, if I don't have the credit on my Visa card to pay for more L$, I can do work, and the work isn't some tedious thing like in an RPG (which is what makes me usually cheat in an RPG), it usually involves dealing with other people--it's amazing.

I recently found out that I can possibly help out by creating new areas--that's really exciting for me. When I don't cheat in games, I'm usually trying to modify them in some way, and SL gives me the opportunity to create things. I just can't say enough good things about SL.

I'm hoping that I can make some new places based on some terrains I created for some other games, which were FPS games that really weren't appropriate for the types of terrains I made: http://www.infraxes.com/kizzume/artwork.html

Thanks.

I can totally relate to this.

I was the biggest cheat code freak in the universe for regular games - it was all about getting to the end as quick as possible, getting the best weapons, etc etc etc. Get through it all and see it all with the minimum amount of screwing around trying to get the timing right on a jump or whatever.

Here, I can make the landscape, or the weapons, or the clothes, or whatever I want to do. Or nothing at all, and just check out what other people have done. And most of the time, its more imaginative and so much more varied than any regular console/PC game could ever be.

Thanks for posting your thoughts, I never thought about it in this way before, but it kinda helps explain why I like SL so much as well.

I used to (and still do) cheat at games because I'm just a horrible gamer... I suck ^^

But yeah, cheating at SL is kinda hard... up-up-left-down-right-circle-square doesn't really work in SL, I still have to go out make money and actually buy that new poseball set...

When I buy any FPS, the first thing I do is set God mode. :)

*blinks* Well, this explains why I keep using the console cheats for getting items in Oblivion. And why I'm here in the forums and on SL rather than playing Oblivion. I just never stopped to think about it.
