Governor Linden in business?

In Seelfeld next to my house is an XXX Darkpleasures Club that seems to be owned by Governor Linden? Ivy Alexander sold the land and left SL about a MONTH ago according to Supermouse Mouse, the actual builder, but the establishment is still there. Supermouse and I joked that perhaps it was left there for the extended coffee breaks of Linden staff. IF any Linden who knows how to return objects to their owner reads this, please make use of that knowledge and return the build. Have also posted this in the land management area of the forum to have input from the LL folks, should they have time, about other things regarding this too. Thankyou very much to Cyn and Nicole for looking into this, btw. And have asked the Lindens if this is the normal 'wait time' for builds to be returned after land reverts. Curiously, the Governor also owns much of the land under Amy Stirling's Seefeld Second Chance Emporiam (misspelling built into the name already). So..perhaps she sold part of her land and it's yet to have the objects returned?

If the Gov is permitted to own/run a club, then excuse my request, of course. But still am interested in Azure Island-like setup help that perhaps is offered by the Gov. for possible later expansion of my lands.

In the Azure Islands, the Governor has been an officer for quite a long time. I believe this was to help in the setup as Nexus explained in the forums at one point. But not exactly sure why other sims and entreprises did not/do not have the Governor in their group for the 'setup' help. Or if it is indeed offered now.

Many LL employees are great at multitasking...being parts of groups and officers of them, while working for the customer base of LL. But just interested if, beyond the governor, they are also allowed to run businesses or be officers in large or financially successful groups in SL with their Linden name or alt/personal accounts? I can't really see a financial benefit to having them as officers, but do see a setup of large land type of benefit perhaps. Any input or perspectives on this are welcome, ty.

Sorry for the ton of questions, but was on a land-clicking jag trying to buy land near my home in Seefeld this AM and this is just getting me curious, ty.

Hmmm, I too have a singularly tasteless build near me belonging to the aforementioned Governor Linden... I'd love to see it gone, indeed to buy it... It's not marked for auction, for sale, anything. Just sitting there blighting the landscape and not earning tier for LL.

I can only suppose the bigger SL becomes, the more of the Governor's nasty buildings will be left scattered across the landscape?

Maybe we should get the Governor banned for littering the landscape?

Well damn this gives me an idea. Why pay teir for a home or business? I could script an object to instantly place my home or business on LL land that has no autoreturn on it. So if I log back in and my house is gone, I just find a new spot and click, new home. The only thing Im not sure of is if you need to own the land to place a classified AD? I would assume so, but not sure.

Well definitely not interrupting him when he or his coworkers/alts relax at his XXX home:)

But if you want to ask him/her, my advice would be to ask for help from one of the online Lindens...if it takes longer than 10 minutes to 'help' you, they or their alt MIGHT be at Dark Pleasures (or similar venue) with the gov or his alt...

I remember calling LL one time upon the suggestion of a liason..to request some tech help not able to be given by those Lindens currently online. Was updating an area of my water design tutorial and an update was coming so wanted to 'get it right'. I called and received a nice fellow whose voice kind of dampened a bit as he looked for the clerk/pc guy who I was supposed to get in touch with. "Well, his sandwich is still here, but he's been gone for 2 hours..."

So..good luck :))

There was probably something unpleasant in the sandwich.

Last year, there was a mall next door to me in Wingo called "Hanging Gardens Mall".

At one point, the owner disappeared from SL, and the land parcel reverted to ownership by Governor Linden. Since autoreturn was turned off on the parcel, the build stayed - even though Governor Linden was the 'owner'.

It remained this way for about 6-8 weeks, until I posted to the Second Life Land Management forum, simply asking Nova to turn on Autoreturn for this Linden owned parcel.

Within 72 hours of my request, autoreturn was on, and the parcel was cleared. And about a month after that, the parcel showed up on the Auction block.

Possibly what you're seeing in Seefeld is something similar?

for the land around my home..to buy it..or as much of it as I can when it goes to auction, Travis.

But did wish to know how the Governor assists in setups of sims as well. Since he did that for Azure...and apparently still does, perhaps. Nexus wasn't on when I was on today, but thought to ask him what role was and is played by the gov in helping set up his sim(s). And after he does do or assist in a setup, if he still has to be a member of ones group, as he/she still is in Azure.

Owning vast amounts of meterage is new to most ppl including myself, so looking at every successful sort out there and how they did it is a good start.

As to Garnet...yes...I was having the same sandwich sentiment at the time :))

I wonder if it would make sense for Governer claimed land to be automatically set for sale at some going market price? Maybe set it semi-high to avoid hurting land barons too much?

It doesn't seem like it gets turned into first land very much (all of the first land seems to be appearing on the southern continents, despite the large amount of linden owned land around), and sometimes it just sits there for ever and ever. Besides, first land is so badly abused at the moment that I'm not sure turning it into first land is such a great idea anyway.

I suppose it's an advantage of living in and "old" neighborhood. Your neighbors get tired of the game and leave and after awhile you have tons of open land around your build and no ugly structures blocking your view.

well maybe, but neighbors can be pretty cool...:)

and have the most lovely builds...in Hikuelo for example. And many other mainland neighborhoods. And Ivy's build wasn't bad. Just a club. And not too badly done. Some really nice textures were used.

But, not too into how land is done these days, cept that the auction thing is 'bout it for buying it. Wish me luck at the auctions!

The instances in which I have seen da guv owning land previously owned by residents, is when a resident's account goes non-pay for a substantial block of time. Da guv just buys the land and resells it at a fair (but rounded off) price. Could be a way to keep the economy in check.

Btw, that whole economy thing is just speculation.

da guv...

Well..'da guv' does a bad job at removing prims on reverted land, true, but....

But he does have a sense of humor. After contacting multilple customer service Lindens regarding the Ivy alexander land in question in Seelfeld? Well. only SOME were removed. Ty for that ! However.. the spicy, flashing, neonesque ones, hanging over the lovely Seelfeld sky? Despite the IM's/reports etc, they remain there. And yes, it's on 'da guv's' land. So my guess this is STILL the Linden alt hangout for those moments when you just cant' seem to reach a Linden. hehe BTW..think I do remember Ivy saying 'da guv is a generous guy'. Whatever that means.

But, since the governor seems to be the only Linden realtor to deal with in this awkward, but still amazing pixelpark, he may be a bit overworked. As an up close and personal officer and concierge service of sorts for large land groups such as the great Azure Islands, he provides valuable insight to some sl customers to assure their success. So, if he lacks in the area of autoreturn, it should be somewhat tolerated.
