It seams Catherine has locked down the PR Forum, So I was unable to answer some questions posed to me as a result of the press release announcing the launch of Multi-Verse Records. I'd like to do that here, as I can't think of a better forum to post this in.

The original post and questions are here: /229/ea/84666/1.html

Juel,

If you e-mail me your .mp3 file, I can post it on my web server and create a land parcel URL changer for the non-MVR artists area where people can listen to your songs. You can also then link to that URL on your own land, or give it to friends who own land to put in their land settings so they can listen to it. I can even give you an object that you can give to others to listen to your song on thier own land with out having to paste the URL into their land settings as well. IM me in world for the e-mail addy and the details =)

Lordfly,

1) www.multiverserecords.com, all though it is barely functional. The real purpose for it is to serve .mp3 files and give people a place to download them. MVR does not promote our artists in RL at this time, as many of them already have that in place, so the website would be redundant to the property in Roxy for SL purposes.

2) Artists can submit their music by e-mailing me, IMing me or Derek tones in world or by leaving a note on our bulliten board in the non-mvr artists listening area.

3) While we are flexible in our strategy and are still exploring different possible revenue streams, it is my belief at this point that charging for live events, and advertising revenue from the radio station will be our two biggest sources of revenue. We will also be selling hard copy CD's in the near future.

4) Artists maintain absolute creative control, and the contract is very simple and non-binding, but the terms would be a confidential matter between us and the artists. I will tell you that they can be terminated at any time by either party for any reason and artists maintain 100% control over their intellectual property. Another detail I can add is that as of right now, MVR limits it's scope to SL exclusively. Anything the artists do out side of SL is entirely up to them.

Icon,

Image consultation involves the hiring of fashion consultants and experts in avitar custimization to work with the artists on their image, if they should request such a service. I find that many musicians are auditory creatures, visual concerns tend to take a back seat. =)

Also, I was not aware of the existence of a previous SL record label until after this press release. You are the 2nd person to mention it to me since. Several searches through forum archives and the SL find feature revealed nothing, so I assumed it was safe to call MVR the first. If I could edit the press release, I would rename it "SL's 2nd ever, and Only Existing Independent Record Label Announces Launch" =)

I hope that covers it, feel free to post more if you have them. =)
