Not sure if this is possible but I wanted to take some of the snapshots I've taken and save them to my hard drive...is there an easier way than taking a screenshot of my whole screen while they are open?

Yes, thankfully. While your photo is open, click on File and there is an option to save it to your HD. (I forgot the exact command) You can also do this with textures that you have full permissions on. Edit: Save Texture As... is the one.

You can open the photo from your inventory and go to File -> Save Texture As... - this will save the photo as a 512x512 targa file to your hard drive.

What we REALLY need is bulk downloads. I'm sure it would help the asset server if I could get the literally thousands of pictures out of my inventory and onto my harddrive.

I usually work the other way around - I take all snapshots straight to disk (free - and much faster) - and then only upload the ones I want to give to others (after resizing or cleaning up if I want to)

I'm usually very addicted to hitting CTRL-SHIFT-S for snapshots (since ` doesn't work with chatbar open). I, too, upload what's needed, and do postproduction if deemed desirable too.

Yus, perhaps I need to modify my old behavior and save to disk first from now into the future. That does not help the current situation of waaaaaaay too many snapshots needing to be pulled down for storage.
It takes so long to open up and save an image though. It's a bothersome process.
If there were a built in viewer/browser that would preview whatever snapshot the inventory highlight is over, that would help cull the collection at least. Cursor over, see if I want to download, if not, delete, cursor over the next, etc. I think of the way windoze displays a preview.
As it stands, loading each individual picture just takes too long, when there's thousands of them to go through. I have yet to find an in-world picture board that does a good job of deleting the correct image.

I was thinking about this when going through SL Classifieds, because you wait for each texture to load. I resorted to a "hack" where I'd quickly keep pressing the down arrow so that each texture gets loaded. And then I go back to the beginning of the list. I think part of the confusion for a lot of Resis has to do with snapshots that are unhelpfully named "Snapshot" (myself included) and--as you point out, no previews. Pictures, thousand words, all that good schtuff. Having some sort of a "big picture" view or some way for the asset server to scan your photos and make a "cookie sheet" of your images. These are treasured memories, they should be archived with dignity!
